I won't be surprised if the Saudis nick one goal and defend superbly to a draw

Wouldn’t say it’s a template for triumph over the Kinder Buenos Aireans, Argentina have been slow in possession, partly due to their lack of pace to exploit the gift that is the tremendously high line. Inverting wingers cutting into a congested final third. Fullbacks not stretching the pitch.

As for Saudi, play this way against a team that circulates the ball faster and it’ll be pure suicide.

You could have a little respect
Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

You may be right, but maybe if Herve Renard meets another team with pacey attackers, he will employ a different tactic. That is why a good coach always matters.
