Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

One word. Cerebro. Spain’s mastery of space, bedazzling. The injection of pace up top is powdered sugar atop a layer cake of Victoria sponge passes. Delightful. It’s only Costa Rica, just as it was only Morocco, Japan and Saudi Arabia for others. One can only bloody the nose of the face before you. Lovely football thus far. By far the most controlled showing by any of the Big Boys.

Waiting for a wayward/mistake pass to get on the ball. They had ZERO shots (nevermind on goal) in 45 mins plus 5. Show no urgency, really can't imagine what's going on in that dressing room right now.
Massa,
me and u don't give a damm about CR.
what bothers me is how come this team beat SE?

Seen enough. Referee needs to blow his whistle, stop the game and call in the cops to arrest these guys  Find out who got paid. I mean, Spain has subbed out almost all of their key men and still running rings around these flat bunch like they're in Madrid's city center.

Japan are a decent side and make up for their lack of superstars with a national pride that dares the sinews to surrender. Much like South Korea, they’ll run for days and some. Lovely side to watch. Pure energy.

That switch with Tomiyasu was pure genius!

The timing of it was pure work of art...

ZERO shots so far from Costa Rica, just heard last time that happened in a WC was Costa Rica vs Brazil in 1990.
