A draw and they're still alive

Man, Japan blew it big time against Costa Rica. Germany has been given a lifeline.

But, so far, these results suggest Spain is good. Really good.

The style of Spain really matches up well against Germany. In fact, Spain is the only team I fear for Croatia. I'd rather honestly play Brazil than Spain.

I know Croatia can possess against pretty much any team. Except Spain, who have an infuriating possession that just wears and wears an opponent down. Plus they finally have finishers coming into maturity and form.

I posted a few days ago how I envy their football school, planning, and production. Croatia has a ways to go to ever become like that. Spain suffered for decades before learning how to win more consistently.

I'm guessing they beat Germany 1-0 or 2-0.

This is, perhaps, the first true heavy bout in this World Cup.

Germany should use Klopp ball against Spain. Bypass midfield with accurate long passes. Do they have the quality to do it?

Spain for me has a better football school. I love the emphasis on short passing in tight spaces. Germany also has a technical mindset, but it is more direct and longer ball oriented.

Spain is closer to the South American style, which I like.

Anything can happen, but I think Germany faces a hard style difference vs Spain, France, and even Croatia.

Germany must stop those stupid passes near their 18-y box and also pass the ball quickly when in transition. The Spaniards crowd them and regain possession when a German player hangs on to the ball for too long.
