I agree. The Cavani one was closer to a 50/50 incidental collision but he Amartey foul was definitely a pk. That was a mind blowing decison to pretty much over rule VAR.

If things are done right, this is the last appearance for the Ayew brothers
on the Black Star team, as they have nothing to offer going forward.
Agreed. The Ayews are spent. I think this Ghana team will be better in the near future. They just need to refine some critical areas in the defense and attack.
Most of the players are new and never played together for long. That is their biggest deficiency.

Tbh, Uruguay should have had a pk, but that's life. They were extremely negative in the first two matches.

What foul did Amartey commit? He didn’t pull him down, and his leg def did not kick him down…

Perhaps the referee needs to be punished for being a cheat and bringing the game to disrepute? or nah?

FIFA needs to clean this up.

It is mostly a combination of incompetence and bias, but is irritating.

As we keep discussing, the bias mostly works for the favored teams, in this case it didn't.

No, I won't make a joke about Korea and Japan using their considerable GDP with FIFA in a conspiracy.

Ghana only has themselves to blame. The least they should have got out of this game was a draw with better execution on the pk and better defensive organization. That said as a naija man, today's result was a haters delight special. Both Ghana & Uruguay out in one fell swoop.

Amartey got the ball slightly, but he got a lot of the man and the tackle was behind. It is shocking that it wasn't given.

Huh?
Yes, wrote it. Despite the loss, one cannot discount the effort in the second half.
Imagine if the team had been as effective in the first half. Despite the loss, only absolute
pessimism prevents one from appreciating the difference in the second-half effort.

Kudus and Partey quality.

Other players too confident in their ball control, especially Jordan. Created half of chances for Uruguay by giving ball away. Sulemana is way better than Jordan but barely played.

Defensively Ghana should have played the same defenders as vs Korea: Tariq Lamptey and Gideon Mensah. Baba and that other dude are not it.

Midfield lacks a battering ram like Essien to complement Kudus and Partey.

Ive watched this replay plenty times and ive been asking for the contact that amartey made. The tackle was from the side and he stretched and did not connect with Nunez. Watch the replay below and show me what man he got and how you figure the tackle was from behind?

Partey was poor in this tournament what game did you watch? the only bright spark for Ghana was Kudus.
