Excuses...Except for Mane, who else was missing that would have been a difference maker for Senegal? as much as I hate to admit it, the better team won, African teams once again proving why we're simply not ready at the highest level of football, it's rinse and repeat all over again

It could have been an entirely different game with Gana, Kouyate, Bouna Sarr and of course Mane.

Senegal needed their best side, not replacements, to cope with someone like England.

Also Mendy is not in 2021 form.

I'm not saying this would have meant Senegal would win, but it obviously did not help.

Senegal were one missed kick away from missing out in the WC and being runners up at AFCON with their full squad. Either give Egypt some credit or admit that Senegal is good but not all that.

I can’t stand England but they’ve got their own injuries to deal with before the WC and distractions (2 players have left the WC).

Senegal is the BEST team in Africa as AFCON champions. They qualified for the R16 so are among the 'best' 16 in the world.

The European champion could not even qualify for the WC.

Senegal lost due to some 'stupid' mistakes. They should go and improve using that as a learning.

Southgate has done well with England though many don't want to admit that. When he leaves, their eye will clear.

You're the most pragmatic minimalist I've seen so far, I bet you still think Rohr was the next best thing after wine and toto

We don't give enough credit to England.

They were European finalist. Based on their performance in the past 6 years they are definitely a top 4 team. They may not have ballon dor type of players but as a TEAM they are quite good. They deserve some respect!

Before Southgate England were a long ball kick and follow sort of team that couldn't retain possession and giving it away regularly to the opposition but Southgate has changed all that and now often even play the ball out from the back.
