That team had talent in abundance; Timoumi, Zaki, Aziz Boudebala, Merry Krimau to name but a few. But some of the stuff they played at the Mexico World Cup was a real borefest. Remember their matches against England and West Germany; negativity to the core.

This Moroccan team is exciting to watch.

Please rewatch the games again. They more than matched Portugal man for man.

They remind me of the hey day of Italy and Cameroun. Maybe Bourkina Faso a few years ago. Not the most exciting to watch but they get the job done.

Attack and dominate in possession when they need to and defend like mad sentinels when required.

No frills in possession and movement. Whats not to like?

Like every team, there is a downside.

Their unnecessary turnovers could have cost another team. However, they seemed confident in their ability to deal with threats and turn disadvantage to advantage.

Also, picking up unnecessary yellows may turn out to be their undoing eventually as other teams seek to exploit this weakness.

Surprised that is the heat map and teams still could not score.

Morocco actually transitions well and do not simply boot the ball. I do not think there is anything wrong with being organized and playing to your strengths.

It is part of the beauty of the game.
