After the WC they'll undoubtedly be the No 1 team in Africa by a long shot. They'll be a super team that's never seen before in Africa, a WC semifinalist. A elite team in world football.

How was it hastily arranged? Majority of the team also played in AFCON in January and throughout their qualifiers. Only thing that was new was the emergence of Ounahi ( though foreshadowed by his Ligue 1 form) and the manager.

The tactics that worked so well for them at the World Cup may not work at the AFCON. The biggest weakness in this Morocco team is its lack of a proper goalscorer striker (El Nesyri does not fit that category).
