Can Morocco maintain its success?
Morocco, imho , is the best African team ever at the WC but can they maintain their success by getting better and winning Afcon?
After the WC they'll undoubtedly be the No 1 team in Africa by a long shot. They'll be a super team that's never seen before in Africa, a WC semifinalist. A elite team in world football.
However, it'll be interesting to see if their defensive style of play will translate to more success on the continent. They won't be playing against ball dominant opponents and will likely have to play as the dominant team meaning they'll be back to the open game they played at Afcon. Can they rule Africa as a ball dominant team or will they remain a defensive counter attacking team?
I expect them to do well against more skilful teams who they can counter against like Nigeria and CIV but could have trouble vs Senegal, Ghana,Cameroun and even a team like Tunisia who know how to set up .Either way, Morocco's success along with that of Senegal and Cameroun's win vs Brazil will elevate Afcon as a more competitive Tournament.
It's all on the up and up for Africa.

Hastily arranged? What has the careful deliberate planning of Kenya accomplished?

Morocco has a dictator like Abacha and Idi Amin. He can get things done. Not the red tape and corruption and hoops a coach in Kenya has to go through! We have corrupt folks who prevent the players from progressing or growing before they get paid by FIFA!EMIR KONGI JAFFI JOFFA wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 6:42 pmField Marshall Ogolo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 4:46 pmNo. This was a hastily arranged team.EMIR KONGI JAFFI JOFFA wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 4:56 am Morocco, imho , is the best African team ever at the WC but can they maintain their success by getting better and winning Afcon?

So Africa is not bad at football anymore or Morocco is not in Africa?EMIR KONGI JAFFI JOFFA wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 4:56 am Morocco, imho , is the best African team ever at the WC but can they maintain their success by getting better and winning Afcon?

How was it hastily arranged? Majority of the team also played in AFCON in January and throughout their qualifiers. Only thing that was new was the emergence of Ounahi ( though foreshadowed by his Ligue 1 form) and the manager.Field Marshall Ogolo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 4:46 pmNo. This was a hastily arranged team.EMIR KONGI JAFFI JOFFA wrote: ↑Thu Dec 15, 2022 4:56 am Morocco, imho , is the best African team ever at the WC but can they maintain their success by getting better and winning Afcon?

Re: Can Morocco maintain its success?
The tactics that worked so well for them at the World Cup may not work at the AFCON. The biggest weakness in this Morocco
team is its lack of a proper goalscorer striker (El Nesyri does not fit that category).
