I can't stand FIFA and how it appoints refs. That was 100% a penalty. I've no doubt if we were Argentina, it would have been called. Whatever.

We won 3rd place. Nice achievement for the last 2 WCs. We've a strong core of youth and experience. Modric is going to be a big loss, but the defense and midfield will continue to be strong...as we search for new strikers.

Croatia went as far as reasonably can be expected. Hats off to Morocco too. I really hope they can sustain this...and continue to build upon what seems a decent football foundation, developing even more.

The WC is a gladiator arena. Top 4 is special, getting 7 games.

You know how we have the departure lounge on CE for this tournament? Well, Croatia and Morocco never got in it. Stayed with France and Argentina to the end.

Yeah, I think Luka is done. Father Time gets everybody. I don't think he plays in the Euro. This will be his last CL most likely too for Real Madrid.

I hope we can replace his weight across 1-2-3 midfielders. It will be a major loss for us. But as I keep saying, maybe we can aspire to be like the 1998 team that didn't have a Modric?

As we keep discussing on CE, every team has to get ready for the next tournament. Blending and transitioning across generations. I hope to see Nigeria in the next WC...with a deep run team.

...I am tempted to say Morocco didn't want to win. Errors cost them again. Been a long tournament, and they have raised the bar for Africa to emulate. Now the goal is semifinal for African wannabes.
