All the "Traditional Top 5 teams" are out of the AFCON
All the "Traditional Top 5 teams" are out of the AFCON
Only Nigeria (6th on CAF ranking) and Ivory Coast (9th) are left.
This is shaping up to be the tournament of the dark horses, it has NEVER happened in AFCON history before and I stand corrected.

People make up stats as they go.
Any traditional Top 5 teams, should include Nigeria, just have you know.

The current rankings are the most unrealistic there’s ever been. Tunisia is not, by any stretch of the imagination, an African top 5 team; and neither is Egypt
Cheers.
Cheers.

I blame Hayatou
Ever since he left, everything is better.
At this rate, a CAF minnow will win the World Cup before the so called “big teams.”

We need to define a minnow.

Re: All the "Traditional Top 5 teams" are out of the AFCON
Minnowship is relative, teams like Cape Verde, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, heck even Comoros etc can't be considered as big achievers on the African football stage as far as pedigree and winning trophies go, yet they have done absolutely well recently to be considered dark horses rather than "minnows". Uganda on the other hand...
Re: All the "Traditional Top 5 teams" are out of the AFCON
Maybe more significant - the 5 at the last world cup did not reach the q-finals.

If stats are correct, well, not sure if Nigeria is not a minnow too.
