England look average, definitely a quarter-final team at best.

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. 1st game is never an indication of who the best teams are in a major tournament. A lot of teams make adjustments that’ll make them better than expected. Italy will be strong, I’m not buying Germany yet, Denmark could be more dangerous with a couple tweaks. England still has 2 more gears. Nothing has happened so far.

England is going nowhere. Bad second half. Honestly Foden should not be starting.

Sad thing but Safegate is the personification of that saying “that an army of Lions led by a sheep would lose to an army of lambs led by a Lion.”

What Safegate have the English people today was pathetic. Major Major improvement needed

I think City system of play makes him more comfortable that what Southgate does. Up to Southgate to make Foden play but the kid is better than what we saw today way better.

Would bring on Gordon for Foden...

And later in the game, Gallagher
Foden, despite his firm passenger status, was never changed. Saka was.

Teams cannot play brilliantly every single minute of every single match. They say that the sign of a good team is being able to win despite not playing well.

Everyone says that England played poorly - yet England won the match, kept a clean sheet, got 3 points, and is on top of its group. Job well done.

If Nigeria 🇳🇬 had won all of its World Cup qualifiers 1-0 after playing badly, it would be top of its WCQ group, 6 points clear with twice as many points as every other team, and with 1 foot in the World Cup.

If people can be realistic to the fact that England or any team for that matter
should not be expected to perform 'at will'. It is those who underrated teams like
Serbia and watched the game with prejudice that are disappointed with the way
things unfolded on the pitch.

England is good, but Serbia is no pushover. Spain's 3-0 win over Croatia does not spell doom
for the Croats nor does it make Spain a perfect team. The competition just started, things are
just heating up and we need to be patient as this tournament will not be a 'cake walk' for any team.

Only Nigerian fans would argue that Foden (who scored 27 goals from midfield and got nearly 40 goal contributions last season) should not be in the team.

This is what happens when a team have no 'standards' but plays to the level of the opposition.
These type of teams always display a lack of individual focus and team discipline.
...And which is why teams like Germany and Italy can win several world cups while
more talented teams fall by the wayside.
