Very strange that Man Utd paid 55 million for Mount (who was in the last year of his contract) when they had Mainoo in their academy.

Credit to Onana, that was a good save.

His Premier League comeback from his months long 182 day injury lasted a grand total of 1.5 matches.

Mainoo: 18
Garnacho: 19
Hojlund: 21

The future would be even brighter had the club not sold Elanga (21) and Henderson (26).

If you had a time machine that could transport ONLY THREE past Manchester United players (in their prime) into the present team to improve problem areas, which 3 players would you pick? Mine would be:

1) A ruthless cold eyed finisher at center forward (Ruud Van Nistelrooy)

2) A dominant goalkeeper (Peter Schmeichel)

3) An all action mobile midfielder who gets across every blade of grass on the pitch and impacts the game at both ends (Bryan Robson).

I understand that this team badly needs a dominant central defender (Stam and Vidic - where art thou?). However, I must stick to the "three only" rule.

FFS, Hojlund (the most in form player in the team) is out injured for the next 3 weeks and will miss the games against Fulham, Notts Forest 🌳, and the derby against Manchester City. Manchester United do not have a CF to replace him because Martial (if he can be called a CF) is also injured and they join the usual lengthy injury list:

Martinez
Shaw
Malacia
Mount
Wan-Bissaka
Hojlund
Martial

So a multi-billion pound football club is going into a top flight match with no center forward or left back. The LB problem is of United’s making. They allowed 3 LBs to leave the club (Telles, Williams, Enzo Fernandez) at a time when they knew that Malacia was injured and Shaw has issues with staying injury free for more than 2 consecutive games.

Great development in my opinion. There are lots of changes going on with INEOS coming on board and issues like this should not take the backseat or fly under the radar. In fact, I want all hell to break loose till the end of the season with no papering over cracks. Enough is enough

Going into the Manchester derby to play the reigning simultaneous world champions, European champions, English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 champions, and treble winners without a recognised striker, left back, and the first choice CD, and the following players injured or unavailable:

Hojlund
Maguire
Malacia
Martial
Martinez
Mount
Sancho*
Shaw
Wan-Bissaka

Big Johnny Evans from the off. Scot “Super Mac” McTominay. Against all odds. Wager on United each way (win or draw). Haaland first goal scorer? Nope, cheeky little blind on Big Vic Anichebe Lindeloff. Mouthwatering odds. Likely? Hardly, all the better. Double the wager.

Yep. Just like that. The Lindeloff wager dissipates, or does it. In-play, spread it to the full ninety. Accumulator. United at half-time and full-time, Lindeloff to score. Only option an accumulator or lose the wager.

Interesting choice of midfield once more from Pep. 4-1-4-1, weight of the world on Rodri’s shoulders. Should be picked off nicely on the counter. Did someone say 3-2?
