Barca cannot afford both him and Lewa. They will need to pick one. They need to raise 4 euros for every 1 euro spent in La Liga.

The English media are blowing the financial problems of Barca to the high heavens. The English media hasn't yet
gotten over the loss Manu twice and Arsenal once in CL finals. In the case of Manu it was like a soccer clinic totally
out played. It was like a Pro team against a high school team
They were able to sign Torres from city for 55m. It is like being 1000 pounds in debt and people saying you can't spend
10 pounds because of the debt, that is the thinking of those with very little knowledge of business. If the team is playing
good soccer and winning sales of merchandise and gate takings will surpass the salaries and signing fee of which
ever players they sign.

Barca surprised everyone that blew their debt stature out of proportion.

But are they trying to change their whole team? From Chelsea alone they want 2 players. They might get Alonso next week. And they are pushing for Azpi as well.

Alonso and Azpi are not Barca material. They look good playing for Chelsea because of the way Chelsea plays
but at Barca or in La liga that the technical play is far better than the PL they will be easily found out.
Xavi will not become a great coach like Guardiola because of his bias for the Spanish players. A defence made of Eric Garcia, Azpi and Alonso will leak basket full of goals. The only player to move from the PL to la liga and was an outstanding success
is Christian Ronaldo, I can't think of any other player. It just goes to show the PL and certain players are too overrated and hyped.

Better look at Villareal. Plenty of former EPL players. Also players like Steve McManaman and Luka Modric. Me thinks you should research more.

Barcelona adds a buy-out clause of 500M Euros on Christensen's contract.

Chelsea needs to be better prepared and should stop losing players for free.

F Christensen, these players nowadays are not loyal like the likes of Didier, Terry and Lampard.

Balo,
Where’s Raphinha :sneaky:
He had an agreement with Barca since March. Right now, it is Chelsea trying to hijack the deal. His situation is in limbo. As of today, Leeds have come out to say the only offer received is Chelsea's. Barca is scrambling. And the only card they have going for them is the agreement they had with Raphinha.

Don't worry though. I know you are ready to laugh at Chelsea. We are ready to sit with you on the bench. Just scoot a little so we can sit as we watch things unfold.

Effective. Very. 1 goal contribution in every 2 games (EPL) is not to be scoffed at. For a winger/wide forward his numbers are impressive. Many seemed much better have yielded much less. Decent signing for Chelsea, given the going rates for Englishmen.

Stats don't tell the whole story. He's a tap in merchant that was carried by Pep's system, he's fast and has good movement but offers little else. He can't shoot and can't pass, he can't hold the ball under pressure either. He often dribbles himself into blind alleys and loses the ball. He can get away with this in a system that can highlight the strongest part of his game but in a Chelsea team where he will be expected to do more he will be found out. There's a reason why Pep doesn't mind getting rid. He was at his best for City during the 2017/18 and the first part of the 2018/19 seasons but struggled before and after.

I hope Tuchel is able to coach some of those issues out of him. But I agree with your observations.

Yes, Sterling has many afflictions and profited from the patterns of play under Pep, but Pep was far from Rodgers and just as far from Southgate, when Sterling shone for Liverpool and England respectively. Agree with many of the maladies listed above, however retain the opinion that Sterling will add more to the frontline than his predecessors (Werner, Lukaku).

For all his limitations, he is effective.

He can do no worse than the current setups at Chelsea. The last 3 seasons the top scorers at Chelsea were jourginho all pks, Lukaku, mostly cup goals etc

His agent said he wasn't contacted yet by Chelsea. Just one of those players being monitored by Chelsea. But he would be a great addition. He can pay CM/DM. And the club needs a DM. A cheaper option to Rice.
