Canada has done extremely well to get here and Jesse deserves enormous praise for this.

They've ridden the luck of the draw and the two games against 10 men, but they are a poor side...

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

I've been watching on and off. But in the 1st half, Canada put together some good football from the back and midfield.

Their main issue, like with many aspiring countries: poor final 1/3 play...which might take a generation or two, assuming Canada keeps developing.

I hope Marsch stays for a while and Canada keeps investing...and that MLS and CONCACAF get its act together. This tournament is a serious failure for the entire conference, with only Canada really showing anything.

It's not good enough.

I wouldn't call them poor. They played well today but lack the experience to be more clinical with their possession against teams like Argentina.
They should be proud of the way they played in this tournament. Jesse Marsh has a good thing going on with the Canada NT

We have seen this movie too many times. Saw it with Ecuador in the quarter final. Anyway, efficient performance by Argentina. Should be a very good final between them and Colombia/Uruguay.

They are poor. There's no other way to cut it.
One can praise them for what they have done here, but they are poor.

I can't stand De Paul. Chump.

I try to like Argentina. But it's easy to hate them. Plenty of dirty play, cynicism, and play acting.

It's unfortunate because obviously they also play 1st class football.

At this point, I hope Uruguay then Colombia will win...but I fear they will exhaust each other tomorrow, leaving Argentina an easier task.

My thoughts exactly. Uruguay is more likely to deal with Argentina physically and probably injure 1 or 2 players but I can’t trust them to score. Nunez is very wasteful in goal. I see them losing by a lone goal or dragging Argentina to PK. Colombia is more likely to score more than 1 goal but I’m not sure they can get past Uruguay’s physical & mental game.

I trust Uruguay more than Colombia to stay composed.

Colombia gets goaded into playing excessive retaliation. Brazil has played them for fools many times like this.

I agree on Nunez. If he would only take 1-2 breathes in that final shot or pass...too impulsive.

Chief,

At times Drake’s bet don’t make sense. I heard he doesn’t bet his real money and is just doing a promotion for the betting company. Not that he doesn’t have the money to burn.
