Maguire is a terrible defender, man. Getting roasted so easily.

I think the Man United gaffer is under strict instructions to start him over and over again

Irony being Soton executed the very same style Ragnick envsioned he’d pioneer at Old Trafford.

It's an open secret now, other managers know that United players are lazy and don't track back, so you always have a chance to nick a goal

Manager Ralf Rangnick on Darren Fletcher
Rangnick told reporters, "Well, I can only talk about what I've experienced in the last 11 to 12 weeks. He has always been part of almost every training session and each game.

"Whenever I have had a question about what he thinks, because he obviously knows the players, he has known them for a long time. I could always, and will always, ask him for his opinion. So it is good to have him in the team.

"What is his role in with regard to the club? I don't really know, to be honest. I can only tell you what is happening in the training sessions, around the training sessions and around the games. In those areas, it is good to have him on board."

Yes it did. Kudos to Man U getting the win. Despite that 1 minute scare.

The scare is still there in defence
Difficult set of fixtures coming up in March.

And not to mention Atletico Madrid on Wednesday , a very ugly side to play

Despite the final score, United had one of their best display today against Watford.

At this point it's encouraging that they can put a display.
But the defending is still worrying.

Because the ides of March are here

March fixtures

Man City (A)
Spurs (H)
Atl. Madrid (H)
Liverpool. (A)
Leicester (H)

...I don't understand some coaches use of players. That kid Elanga is, in current form, a super sub not a starter. If he had come in like he did during the UCL or any other in the past he could have scored with his abundant energy vs tired Watford defenders. Same thing with Cavani, he is a super sub type player.

Watching Man Utd is like Groundhog Day. Every season since 2013 has been a rebuilding job. Last season they finished 2nd, reached a European cup final, a SF in another cup, and at the start of this season added a World Cup winner, multiple Ballon D'or winner, and the hottest young winger in Europe. Finally it looked like they would mount a title challenge. Fast forward 5 months and the club faces yet another rebuilding job.

At the end of the season 5 experienced players will probably leave as their contracts expire simultaneously (who on earth allowed such bad continuity planning?! ): Pogba, Cavani, Lingard, Matic, Mata. About 150 million worth of talent - leaving for free. Since all are in their 30s or late 20s, the bulk of experience in the squad will be excised. Then whomever the new manager will face two massive challenges:

1) What to do about a 37 yo legend whose "legs have gone" but who demands to play every single minute of every single game, refuses to be rested or benched, and who will throw a tantrum and destabilise the whole club if the manager omits him from the team.

2) Martial, Henderson, Jones, Bailly and Van De Beek might also leave in search of first team opportunities.

3) Man U will lose about 6-10 players and will be in the market for a striker, 2 midfielders, 2 defenders, and perhaps another GK. How on earth can this be happening - AGAIN?!

It cant be another rebuild job when they didn't even finish building properly in the first place.

That is the only major problem, Manchester United has never managed to assemble a proper squad and manager combination ever since Ferguson.
When Mourinho wanted to add extra to push for the title, the fans and board got rid of him
Now Ole still didn't have all the tools required, they bought the wrong players last summer.
Whatever was needed then, is still needed now.

Top 4 i think is gone, but what's the strategy now, give than this is an interim manager

Benteke, should Man Utd take more gambles with players from its Academy rather than risk more expensive signings that do not work out? (Di Maria, Lukaku, Depay, Falcao, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger etc).

eg. Could the impending departure of Matic and Mata be covered by recalling Garner from loan? (and VDB who is not an Academy graduate) How about letting Jones leave to try and rebuild his career elsewhere and recalling Tuanzebe from loan. If the club needs a CD backup to Varane, Slabhead, and Lindelof - it might as well be Tuanzebe rather than paying 50 million for a defender to sit on the bench.

Greenwood’s replacement is already in the squad: Elanga. Martial can also come back from loan.

Okosisi 1 vs Once upon a time Iroko. The former draws first blood but needless to say, tis far far from over. United look decent with the two inverted forwards in wreck-it Ralf’s 4 triple 2. If Teles and AWB can get their heels on, could be a very interesting battle in the half space.

Couple quid on United to draw level at the half mark. One extra on the lead perhaps? Garçon, fill’er up, there’s money to be made.

That was some strong hands on De Gea. How he kept the ball out of the net the first time….
