Mitrovic gets an 8 game ban for putting his hands on a referee during Fulham’s FA Cup defeat to Man United.

Epitome of self destruction.

Amad Diallo scored 2 goals and got an assist for Sunderland in its game against Hull. He has scored 11 goals while on loan at Sunderland this season.

The Man Utd v Spanish clubs thing seems even more bizarre due to something I noticed. In the last 2 years alone, Man Utd has been drawn against 5 of the top 🔝 6 teams in the current La Liga table. Real Madrid is the only team in the top 🔝 6 that Man Utd has not been drawn against in the past 2 years.

Very strange that Man Utd has drawn a Spanish team in every single round (including the group stage). Has this ever happened before?

At this rate, Man Utd might as well rent an Air BnB in Spain 🇪🇸 since they are there so often!

Rashford got injured in the last game against Everton and ETH is blaming it on Man Utd's schedule which forced them to play 3 games in only 6 days. It was unnecessary as the Premier League could have spaced those games over 8 games instead (Saturday, Wednesday, Sunday).

ETH should also take some responsibility. Why was Rashford still on the pitch in a game that Man Utd was winning 2-0, just a few days before a Europa League quarter-final game?

...why are they always criticizing the epl schedule when they get the job as if they just landed from the outer space. Note only foreign coaches say this every year not the British.

To be fair SAF also used to complain about it.

The EPL schedule is jarring for foreign coaches who come from countries where the league has fewer games, has a mid-season break to give players a rest, only 1 cup competition, and teams in Europe get their fixtures postponed or re-arranged to give them extra time to prepare for their European games.

Licha has joined Donny and Jonesy on the “injured for the rest of the season list”. Updated injury list:

Lisandro Martinez
Rashford
Varane
Shaw
McTominay
Van de Beek
Jones
Heaton
Garnacho

3 of the first choice 4 defenders are injured.

Barely fit: Eriksen and Martial (both returning from long term injuries)

It is the price of still being in 4 tournaments going into the final month of the season (and ETH’s lack of squad rotation). Rashford, Licha, and Bruno have played too many games. 2 of those 3 are now injured.

The Notts Forest game was an excellent demonstration of why Man Utd desperately needs a clinical striker (and why Martial is not the answer).

Man Utd were so dominant that Forest were lucky to get away with only a 0-2 defeat. It was one of those games were Forest “were lucky to get nil” as they proverbially say. If Man City had as much possession and as many chances as Man Utd did, the final score would have been 5-0 or 6-0 (because City has a clinical striker and Man Utd does not).

At this rate, even an ageing poacher like Cavani (approaching the twilight of his career) would have scored 2 goals had he been given a 30 minute cameo in that game as a substitute.

Osimhen’s price tag 🏷️ will make him unbuyeable. Lillian Thuram’s kid (available on a free transfer) may be a good Plan B until Man Utd save enough money to buy Osimhen one day.

Even by Man Utd standards this is quite a special injury list. Apart from the 9 players in the photo below, there are also 2 other players injured. Having an entire team (11 players) injured is quite special. 4 of the first choice 5 defenders are injured, and things are so bad that Dalot had to play at LB yesterday to compensate for the injuries.

Full list:

Rashford
Varane
Lisandro Martinez
Shaw
Malacia
Garnacho
McTominay
Sabitzer
Van de Beek
Heaton
Jones

stop complaining, this is nothing compared to Chelsea, who had an entire squad out with injuries

Since this was previously brought up it's only fair to follow-up on the current status:

Week 30 Standing
2021/22: W14 D9 L7 GF49 GA41 GD+8 Points51 Position 7th
2022/23: W18 D5 L7 GF46 GA37 GD+9 Points59 Position 3rd

Final Standing
2021/22: W16 D10 L12 GF57 GA57 GD0 Points58 Position 6th
2022/23: ?

ETH's team already have more points in 30 matchweeks than the total points pulled at the end of last season.

12 players unavailable for the FA Cup SF against Brighton (Maguire is suspended). That means that Lindelof is the only fit CD at the club.

Tuanzebe is out on loan (and injured - he has played only 5 games since joining Stoke City on loan 4 months ago).

The dream signings (Osimhen, Bellingham, Gvardiol) would increase the club’s debt to over £1 billion. The club is not likely to sanction such huge sums on player acquisitions in the middle of a change of ownership.

Fortunately there are several good players available for free in the summer. Any two of the following would be excellent business:

Benzema (ha! IF she would want to reunite with his mates Casemiro and Varane at Man Utd)

Tielemans- solid box to box player, scores goals, low risk because he already knows the EPL

Laimer - another one from the RB Leipzig production line. 4 years younger than Sabitzer, and unlike Sabitzer, no transfer fee will be payable for him.

Marcus Thuram - a good Plan B, more mobile than Weghorst, and can keep the seat warm until the club saves enough money to bid for Osimhen.
