If this Charlie is signed, Arteta must dump this 3-4-3 formation for 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 (my preference).

:taunt: :taunt:
He's being sent out to loan because he's surplus to requirements not because of developmental reasons.
Stars are forgiven easily.
And he's not a star so what is your point? If he had not fallen out with Arteta, he would be playing.
My point is they didn't like his development and also didn't want to put up with him. They tried everything to sell him. Most clubs were saying no.
Hopefully he can use the next 12 months to grow up and to work on his defensive game.
His development was not an issue, it was his attitude.
You still don't get it. If his development was good. They will put up with his attitude and try and mentor him. Clubs would be lining up to sign him even if they didn't have the money. They will offer loan this year with option to buy.
Winners do it the right way.

I am curious - Is there a reason we waited till last minute to trigger the Partey buy out clause ? Was someone upset by something with the LT deal and decided to upset AM ?

if the plan B was to trigger his full release clause why wait till deadline day ?

They pulled off the dramatic transfer coup on deadline day by triggering Partey’s £52.5m clause written into his contract held by the Spanish football authorities.

They are also paying Partey £260,000-a-week in a four year contract with an option, £2.5m signing-on fee and ten per cent agent commission in a staggering package
.
110 Million pounds

#GAMECHANGER!!!

I’m liking the new look Arsenal.
Finally a Monster in the middle.
Hopefully Mikel starts the pair of
Dani and Thomas as our pair and we can
see the back of Willock and Xhaka for a while,
Especially in EPL games.

Signing GABRIEL and Partey have been two
big wins this offseason.

Stars aligning at Colney - we've lacked pace in that M/F for too long. An athletic ball winner with great tactical acumen. Good time for TP to come too cos this team's got nice work ethic - on & on!!!

Coach wrote:Granted Martinez made a couple saves, but the game was nothing to do with Martinez and everything to with team strategy. Liverpool were overrun, unthinkable and yet, absolute. The very same Alexander-Arnold, for whom Arteta embraced Pythagorean equation and Fibonacci sequence, inversion, eversion...demolished by Jack the Lad. Villa were simply brilliant, with a bunch of Championship players...credit where credit due.
I have been warning people since last season about Aston Villa with their sugar daddy spending.

If we were going to sell, why do so to Premier League rival with ambition for the top of the league?

To be honest I can't say why they ended up in a relegation fight last season with all the money spent but watch out for them o. Hmmmm

At this time, I think the club needs to pull the #10 jersey from the prick Ozil.
Dude is content to sit around and milk the club dry.
He will be a lasting stain on the Wenger era!
Total Prat!
Wish they could have culled the likes
Kolasinac
Mustafi
Sokratis
Xhaka
And sent one of Reiss Nelson, Willock, or Nketiah on loan.

Anyway we shall see.
Funny we have on our roster for central defenders
Chambers
Mari
Luiz
Gabriel
Holding
Saliba
Sokratis
Mustafi

Insanity!

Old news.
Athletico has always said that they
don’t want an installment plan or to
negotiate reduced terms but the whole
lump sum.
Nope. Not old news.

I love this.

Atletico refused to negotiate for Partey all summer, even when we offered Torreira. They wanted him on loan instead. We agreed. On deadline day, we went directly to La Liga and agreed to pay Partey’s clause. We then rescinded the loan offer for Torreira. Saying that they must take him on an outright sale or nothing at all.

Fantastic Arsenal.

I think the plan was to get both Aouar and Partey. Sell a bunch of players to raise funds. But because of Covid 19. It was difficult to offload players. Plus players like Sokratis, Kolisinac refused to take pay cut. Money was tight. Even Napoli couldn't offload Koulibali which affected the exit of Sokratis. Mustaffi and Chambers are injured will fail a medical. Maybe they can do a short term loan to a championship side for Chambers and Saliba.

They probably waited till the last minute to see if they could offload the players to get the funds. Once they realized it was difficult market offloading players. The budget was enough for one of the player not both. They went hard at Aouar for as long they could. They could wait till to the last minute on Partey because the Partey deal can be done quickly. Once Aouar announced that he is staying at Lyon. The only option was Partey. In my opinion. The first option should have been Partey not Aouar.

I prefer Willian in the free role advanced midfield role because he can operate out wide and centrally. He is good at running at defenders and has more experience.
