Demba Ba got pissed off and asked all FIFA official if they ever refer to white men like "that white man over there why is it that he could not say the person over there?". When all 22 players came to the sideline and were told of the 4th ref language they walked off the pitch. Game will be played tomorrow with new refs.

Now with no fan noise we get to hear how these folks really talk. They will take a knee, act like they support then call you an n-word when you piss them off. I hope the Romanian official is punished!

Lets not change the story... All sources sources say he called Webo a "Negro" or "Negru", which is the Romanian word for black. The issue Ba raised was why his race was used to identify him. Soon enough, our use of the work oyinbo will be banned.

As with all things regarding race or stereotyping, context is the issue.

So using your example of Oyinbo, it sounds to me like how Latinos would use the word 'Gringo'.

These could be derogatory or merely descriptive. For a race that has been culturally and structurally denigrated it is a different context. So calling a Jewish person a Yid or Kike is derogatory. Yid is from Yiddish which should be descriptive but over the years its use in the culture has been in the context of harming another's sense of self.

Negro is as descriptive as Caucasian to denote race. However in another context because of it's close association with abuse, can be sensitive in a situation like this one.
