I enjoyed the recent Cup of Nations tournament - although it was a pity some of the traditionally strong nations were eliminated relatively early - and I was thinking how much better it would be if there were more inter-continental matches between teams. At the moment this only happens once every 4 years.
When I saw the revenue split for men's international football in the FIFA feasibility study in December I was suprised by how great it was - currently Europe 69%-31% Rest of the World - and given how significantly this impacts performance I wondered whether fans of teams outside Europe would strongly be in favour of the biennial proposal because it is projected to change that split to 57%-43% which could lead to greater global competitiveness at the WC.
