Algeria winners again...

Post by Tobi17 »

They won the Arab cup tournament beating Tunisia 2-0...they've now gone on a 40 match unbeaten steak and this was their B side that won the Arab cup Algeria just keeps getting better and are showing no sign of slowing down...for context, they just hired a new manager after their 2018 world cup debacle and in less than a year became African champions and are still winning trophies... Can any team stop Algeria at this point?

Algeria's run will be ended by an unfancied side. Real spoilers ala Italy v Germany 1982.

Bro common.. Burkina Faso is a very decent team that can upset any of the top ranked teams on its day! The Nigerian team under Rohr would have easily lost to that Burkina Faso team, we huffed and puffed against Cape Verde just for context!

If Algeria had a coach like Rohr, they would not have won jack as they would be learning until they have players in big clubs in Europe.

I wouldn't wish Rohr on any team, honestly.

The same Rohr as coach of the SE trounced Algeria not too long ago.

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

Not really.
Algeria had the least number of home-based players in the whole tournament (6).

But you didn't finish the story, and what happened after that?

They are all Africa or Middle East based. Number of those guys play in Tunisia or Qatar.

Algeria had only 4 starters on their team, 1 being the goalkeeper.

Both Egypt and Tunisia were more complete teams in terms of starters.

...so they used "Africa and/or Middle East" based players to prosecute and win a tournament, can you imagine when they inject European players? Oh well, gonna be interesting AFCON.

Are you by any chance suggesting that European-based players are 'better' than players based in Africa or the Middle East?

...a very good question, we would like SE coaches, NFA chair, and Nigerians as a whole to answer.
And why our home and Africa based are often neglected for call ups.
