I think the main difference in the so-called ‘big boys’ and the others is decision making and finishing in the final third - but even then, not by much.
It was shocking how Sierra Leone held Algeria and how even countries like Equatorial Guinea, Malawi and Comoros have put bigger countries under serious pressure, even outplaying them in long spells.

I think the good pitches have definitely helped us see what many of these players can actually do.
I just pray that we treat any so-called ‘minnows’ with the same respect we afforded Egypt.

Gentlemen:

I said it here.
This the most balanced AFCON!!!!!
Truth be told, it is the sweetest to me.
For neutrals, it is beautiful to watch.

I have watched every single game on Dish network here in California.
It was so sweet seeing Malawi hold Senegal
Seeing Cape Verde hold Cameroon
Seeing Ghana disrespected.

I am enjoying this as a football lover.
Let the best team win.

In sum, I am not sure who my fav is now.

This is the most balanced AFCON.
The games are interesting.
Very few thrashings.
Results cannot be confidently predicted.

I can confidently predict that no team with the quality of Nigeria's goalies will win the cup unless by divine intervention. :)

It used to be the likes of Morocco, Algeria and Nigeria that scoured the world for players.
Now you have the Comoros, Cape Verde and a few other countries stacked with FB players.
The Comorian squad is full of European based players except for two, who play in MLS and Namibia.

Word is many are products of French club Marseille.
