IMHO, so far, it is Malawi's number 11, Gabadinho Mhango. :thumbs: :thumbs:

Followed by Aribo of Nigeria.

A whole bunch of goalies....

NB: I haven't watched all the games in all their full minutes.

It's way too early for that, the round of 16 and knock out stages should start to unravel the gems
But so far it's Vincent Aboubakar for me.

Vincent Aboubakar has scored goals but I'm not convinced especially in their first game.
Maybe I'm holding him and the Lions to a higher standard but one has to also factor in the woeful Ethiopian defending in the second game.

So far player of the tournament is the Nigerian number 9 who plays for Cameroon. Has 4 goals so far

Why?

He is a good MF going forward because he makes good decisions and passes, but not as good at winning the ball back.

Overall, a good player but not good enough to be the tournament player.

Collins Fai is the best at his position, together with Hakimi. The player of the tournament will be decided on the last day of the tournment which might be Mane. In every game he played, he was the man of the match.

IMHO, he was MoM against CIV, Morocco and the hosts.
He saved penas in 3 games even though some of the kicks were not up to the task.
He refused to be subbed and played on in pain, until he literally couldn't dive to one side anymore.

Its either a Senegalese or Egyptian....Salah, Mendy or Mane. This is just how it works, it reminds of 2014 world cup when Messi won the best player.
