I am going to predict that an African team will make the finals!!!!!!
I feel it.
I see maturity in our football.
I see quality players in every country.

Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana have made Africa proud and reached the quarters.

This time we will do better.

I am very impressed after watching 12 games so far.

Chief, 5 African teams will make the finals.

One of them making the final would be mind blowing.
An all-African final would be out of this world!

I pray you are right. Any of the sub-saharan countries would be my dream come thrue.

I wish I could agree with the OP. They said the same thing about 2010. i don't see any African team that is clinical enough in front of goal, that is a constant scoring threat on set pieces, FK's outside the box, corners etc.

On the bright side it seems there has been a general improvement defensively in the African game.

Anyway, we will see

Yeah, any team with good enough players has a puncher's chance in a tournament but let's get real here, we have a long way to go.

Senegal has the most elite players, but isn't playing like it.

Nigeria, Cameroon and Morocco are the best teams so far, but Cote d'Ivoire, Mali and Egypt looking sold as well.

BTW Cameroon is the only pot 2 team that looks great, but depending on the draw they could elimnate anyone. Egypt and Mali also, but to a lesser extent.

The draw is on Friday...who gets the SE from the following. Egypt, Cameroon, Mali, DRC and ghana

to be honest , it matters not who we get, left to me make them give us either Egypt, ghana or Cameroon

Based so far on what I've seen Africa should be represented by:
Nigeria
Cameroon
Cote d'Ivoire (can't make it)
Senegal
Morocco
Egypt

Shame we can only send five though...

And who would you send? Mali might do good and have a nice young squad, but the rest is who? Ghana who just lost to Comoros? Congo who could even make the AFCON? Perennial bores Tunisia? Algeria on a downward spiral?

As things stand right now (and it might change), Africa does not have the attacking quality to do anything at the world cup. Harsh facts.
