Bro, the minute Tunisia scored against us, I told my lady, we are toast. :curse:
I remember the keeper diving for a ball that completely went wide and then claiming to get injured in the process :rotf:

I don't know why the North Africans can't replicate their tactics at the WC level.

Egypt have never won a game at the WC. In fact Nigeria have won more games at the WC than Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia combined, and they have a 20 year head start on us regarding going to the WC. In Egypt's case, a 50 year head start

In all, this game turned out to be what I thought it will be, 'cracker.'

I want our grudge match against Ghana to look like this one, all the drama, tension and of course Nigeria beating the Kenkey bredas to crown it all.

A player passes to Mo Salah instead of shooting into an empty goal?

Morocco's defenders were poor after they won the ball.

Really good in game management from Queiroz.

Much unlike his cautious instincts, took advantage of the Hegazi injury to switch to a back 3 with Trezeguet on the left to push high towards Hakimi.

Took full advantage of Halilovic dropping back.

Really outmaneuvered him in MF with the duo of Moustapha and Elneny.

Far cry from the team that looked lost against Nigeria...

Next Cameroon. Will be quite a mountain to challenge the power in CAM central MF

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

I think a combination of mindset and bad luck.

They have played some of the best footie of African teams at the WC...

I think it is probably 90% mindset and 10% other factors.

I mean they have faced the mighty Saudi Arabia 3 times at the WC (Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt) and have never won. I was 1000% sure Egypt would beat Saudi Arabia at the last WC. Boy was I wrong! Anyway let's see who qualifies this time around ...

Nothing has risen to a straight red card.
Not talking about a straight red. There are players who should have received more than 2 cautions already -- and that's after getting discretionary warnings from the ref too.
A North African derby at an AFCON is one of the toughest matches to officiate in the world. The Senegalese referee handled a difficult situation as well as neutrals could have hoped . Top top referee
