Re: You cannot sell a better advert for African football Senegal V Egypt
Kinda disagree. They are worthy finalists, but both have k-leg.
Senegal are defensive minded and laboured in their attack, when Mane is not involved.
Egypt are cry babies, moaners and divers.
I guess we can look foward to Mane v Sallah, but neither team plays good football.

Ghana Naija would have been a better final
Nwabali -- Aina, Bassey, TroostEkong, Sanusi --- Chukwueze, Aribo, Ndidi, Iwobi --- Osimhem, Sadiq Umar

Mane hurts the team whenever he tries to do too much. It is getting better, but has prevented other players from stepping up their game.airwolex wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 11:09 pm Kinda disagree. They are worthy finalists, but both have k-leg.

I believe Senegal can be dangerous even without Mane. They just have to learn how to play without him touching the ball all the time.

Two Liverpool players, Mane and Salah in AFCON final.
A great credit to LFC and Klopp for developing them.
Jurgen Klopp. The boss of all bosses.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

What of helping Klopp to make a name. There is a reason why KLOPP bought them.
I wonder what credit we will give to other coaches who worked with them before they came to LFC.
And should we condemn Klopp for not developing other players that he met or even bought who have not measured up

Who would have predicted this? Anyway, the bottom line, proven beyond reasonable doubt in this tournament, is that in a 32 team World Cup field, Africa deserves a lot more than just 5 places
Cheers.
Cheers.

I don't see Mane doing this much. The dude picks his moments, plus he works hard and is unselfish. A good example is the goal he laid for Gueye.Kabalega wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 1:47 amMane hurts the team whenever he tries to do too much. Otherwise, if you watch their games in the past few years you will notice how much his enthusiasm to be involved in everything hurt the team. Probably cost them an AFCON.

Re: You cannot sell a better advert for African football Senegal V Egypt
It was striking how unselfish he actually is and like someone wrote: He now makes the right choice 90% of the time, which makes him super dangerous. In this regard he is better than Salah, who can get greedy.

Of course other coaches deserve credit too. But, he Kopp made them world class players.

Klopp must be sending them daily DMs to remind them, as he doesn't want them injured or fatigued.

The point is, if a N.African team scores first, they close up the game and execute their tactics e.g. flopping all over the place. So, the game is not enjoyable.theDunamis wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 8:01 am

If Senegal scores first or it is tied for a long period, the game is likely to be more open. So, as a neutral, we want an enjoyable open game with fireworks.
