New Senegal Olympic Stadium|50,000 Cap| Diamniadio City

Post by Benedict Iroha »

The Diamniadio Olympic is located in Diamniadio, in Dakar, Senegal. It will be the national stadium of the Senegal national football team with a capacity of 50,000 and also the host venue of the 2026 Summer Youth Olympics. Built by the Turkish firm Summa. “The modern 50,000-seat complex will be lit by solar power, and will also be equipped with amenities that meet the highest standards in the field, including two training grounds, one of which has 2000 seats, with an athletics track of international standards,” Diamniadio Olympic Stadium will have 4 dressing rooms, one of which will exclusively dedicate to the Teranga Lions of Senegal. In addition, The Diamniadio Olympic Stadium will have a 1,000 m3 tank for watering the grass and a 2 Megawatt solar power plant by the FIFA Green Goal criteria. Construction cost: €238 millions ($269 Million estimated)
Architect: Summa

The Pitch of the stadium will be a hybrid “a mix of natural grass and synthetic microfibers”.

The stadium of champions go ahead Senegal enjoy your new home. Meanwhile the giants of Africa is trying to refurbished a 50 year old Surulere stadium while barely restoring a 300 million Capital city stadium that is less than 20 years old. I have been saying that the NFF should contact Turkish architect to build a sustainable stadium that won't cost billions like Wembley or Cowboys stadium.

Senegal president Macky Sall announced that the famous Senegalese footballer Papa Bouba Diop, who died a few days ago, would be named after this stadium.

The Stadium will host Egypt in the 2nd leg of the World Cup qualification.

Only two things in life are certain - death and taxes. But there is one other unpleasant certainty: criticism. No one escapes it entirely and often our careers, our emotional stability, even our happiness depends on how we react to it."By Benjamin Franklin"
