He is saying English Premier League is now the most popular in South America.
Is that true.
South Americans last time i checked mostly prefer La Liga coz of cultural reasons and other things.

I never noticed any huge craze for European league during my years in Brazil.
As far as football is concerned, almost everything revolves around the local teams. It's Flamengo, Corinthians, Palmeiras and the rest everywhere you go. Not just in conversations but in so many basic things you see around you.
