Long overdue.
Newcastle has always been an underperforming big team.
Their followership is mad.

You are absolutely right. They are serious about being competitive and money apparently is not an issue. Another Shitty in the making, law have mercy.

I hope they don't go the Manchester City route and buy an entire new team. What I like is that the players in the squad have all stepped up to compliment their new signings
I am happy

Its clear that their strategy is different. We will see whether it is the right one or not.

Dont forget that their Sporting Director is Dan Ashworth. Google him and his past and you can clearly see why their strategy has been the way its been.

4 league titles
6 FA Cup wins
13 time FA Cup finalists

That 5-1 demolition of Aston Villa on the first day of this Premier League season suggests that last season was not a fluke.

What I like about this Newcastle team is that despite the massive financial resources they now have, they have spent prudently and are not trying to buy 100 million superstars. Instead they have scouted brilliantly and bought talented young players that immediately settled into the team's system. All their Eddie Howe era signings have been successes (something their fellow top 6 teams cannot claim).

Guimares
Tripper
Isak
Tonali - looked ace on his debut today
Barnes - came off the bench and scored on his debut today

We'll see how they do when the fixture list builds up but I think they will be surprisingly solid in Europe.
