Erling Haaland

Post by danfo driver »

He has played in the Norwegian, Austrian and German league. Yet, he couldn't destroy those leagues as much as he is destroying the english league. He was fantastic in those leagues, but the defenses in those leagues seem to be better prepared to defend against him. How poor is the english league?

The EPL is poor in quality. The so-called "excitement" is usually down to comical defending. But Haaland wasn't playing with the sort of players he has at City in the other leagues. That said, he is a clinical finisher, but not very good as a player. His advantage to City is that he will bury the sort of chances Jesus and Sterling used to miss.

it is not about the quality of the EPL, it is rather the quality of the players and coaching in Man City. Which of those clubs he played for in those countries you listed have a player in the calibre of KDB for example?

I have watched Haaland at City -- 90% of his games. And I agree with Guardiola that he is not anywhere close to performing at his best. His goals so far at City isn't because of the players he is playing with. Watch the two goals yesterday. Just imagine how he will be when that becomes the case.

As you rightfully mentioned, Sterling and Jesus played at City, as well. And even Aguero played with "these players" at City and none of them have gotten these numbers in relation to the games played.

Its remarkable how easy the league is. I saw Haaland at Salzburg and my goodness, he was devastating! More devastating than he has been at City -- and I mean all around play and deadliness. @City, you can tell he is not close to 80% sef. And Pep confirmed that the other day. However, even not at 100%, he has made a mockery of the league

hmm, you do have a point. Gabby Jesus had the calibre of KDB and was highest goalscorer every season. :D

“As-salamu alaykum” said Cristiano Anwar Saladin Bin Rashid and with a mighty roar of “Allahu Akbar” 84 goals in 196 games became 311 in 292. Then came the turn of the Holy Roman Empire, “Allahu Akbar” and with that deafening cry, 81 crashed in, in 98 games.

Will Rashid find it as easy in the desert as he did elsewhere?

The kid is not even trying anymore. Just walking the weak league.

Walking the league into 2nd place.

Anyway, he's used to this from his time at Dortmund.

Did he ever won the highest goal scorer in the Bundesliga?

He has NEVER been highest goals scorer in the league, in his entirely life. Not in Norway, not in Austria and not in Germany.

Yet, he comes to England and he is walking the league like he is playing with kindergarten kids. Easy peasy! Such a weak league.

Einsteinian after the event once the next goal goes in. If Haaland hits 30, that’s a very good return. 35 splendid. 40? Other worldly. Easiest league by far.

Yep. They will twerk when he scores against the next useless opponent. But no goals in the games vs United, Liverpool, Chelsea.... and for all his firepower they're still only second. Interesting. :D
