Player of the month, Southgate already saying he's fabulous. Slipping away from Ghana by the minute even though Southgate has a handful of options in his position. Hopefully he's not capped for capping sake, but he'd need to be in the England frame to get a bumper contract deal.

You guys are assuming that he is as materialistic as you are. You are willing to bet that “stomach infrastructure” will be the overriding factor when he decides to choose an allegiance… but the truth is none of you know what’s driving him. He can walk straight into Ghana’s team. His England rivals are Henderson (nearing the end of his career), Rice, and Phillips. Mainoo is a better long term prospect than Henderson and Phillips so a future England midfield might be Rice, Bellingham, and Mainoo.

Southgate will take his time not to ruin his confidence if he has a bad game representing England. Southgate knows that Ghana is down right now and not a threat. If he was from Morrocco or Senegal then I can see Southgate calling him up.
