Jamie is a racist. The truth is that a lot of these cvnts look down on AFCON and African footballers. The reason most of them want AFCON moved from January is NOT primarily because it "disrupts the EU league). Afterall, most EU leagues used to take longer christmas breaks and by the time they came back, most AFCON players were only away for 2 weeks or so.

The truth is that most of these racists do not value the AFCON and think its a mickey mouse tournament, so why should payers be released for it. You then have some shameless Africans who also blindly agree with them.

He is no different from his friend - Stevie Gerrard who is a blatant racist and whom I wish Diouf had beaten up. These two racist have fans on CE by the way.

AfCON is a major tournament, just as are the CONCAF Gold Cup, Copa America, OFC Men’s Nations Cup and so on and so forth. It was apt of Sturridge and Richards to interject but this was more to please the dot com than anything else. Carragher’s brutal bluntness is probably closer to the Balon d’Or mark scheme than anything the others had to say.

Without wanting to deny the race card it’s five minutes of fame, sentiment aside, does an AfCON triumph equate to or exceed the Champions League in terms of point scoring in the Balon d’Or balloting? Liverpool winning the EPL and Champions League would probably put Salah in better stead than an AfCON and EPL. That’s not an expression of agreement rather a realisation of how the game, in its entirety sees the landscapes. Africa has a long way to go.

Some people think the "game" is "Europe." It is NOT. There are more people who watch the "game" and make up the "game" in Africa, South America, North America and Asia than there are in Europe.

As Itchy as the hand may be clutching the race card, in this instance, context is a must to allow more expansive discourse. In the case of the Balon d’Or, which was what was being discussed and precipitated Carragher’s faux pas, “is AfCON a major tournament?”, does its weighting equal or exceed the top domestic leagues, the Champions League, the EUROs and World Cup?

Again, if Salah won the EPL + AfCON, would this outweigh the EPL + UCL, in scoring for the Balon? If not, would that not suggest a hierarchy of sorts in terms of tournament rankings? If there is a tiered system for ranking, would the highest tier not be considered “Major” and by default those below it varying degrees of anything other than “Major”.

This sentiment is shared by many in football and is arguably a consequence of institutional biases. Whilst it’s “thumbs up” emojiable of Sturridge and Richards to interject, is this to placate or sincere? There’s a wider discussion that needs to be had to address the cultural norm of downplaying the AfCON, which predates Carragherian flops.

Blackening the punditry and Afrocentric rhetoric doesn’t impact the whitewashing of the sport. Perhaps now would be a good time for transparency in official rankings, so to lessen the need for subjective “saved by the bell” statements by Sturridges et al and enable a culture of objectivity that recognises the assigned value and worth of each tournament.

AfCON is a major African tournament and should be seen as a major international tournament. It lacks the infrastructure and investment to compete with the EUROS but as do the Copa America and the Olympic football tournament. With greater investment and a clear vision, the enormity of Africa alone, offers uncapped potential for the tournament to become the behemoth.

^Content. Is this not the same Obi who busied himself with his “brother’s passport renewal” in preference to timely arrival to a Nations Cup qualifier. The very same Nations Cup of utmost importance according to his latest call for traffic and dot com brownie points. As the sequence foretells, far right of the joker is none but a clown.

Much of social media is not be taken serious, it’s akin to a boulevard of scantily clad charlatans, with mini skirts progressively encroaching on the northern equator, for want of punters. A fraction of truth, a festival of fiction and at best, as believable as the tooth fairy and Father Xmas.

Have you seen the video of Stammer and Badenoch, where Stammer humiliated her and said she is seeking to defend "white folks" and seeking for relevance from "white folks"? He didnt use the word white folks, but my word, did he insinuate it! Coach reminds me of Kemi. A worthless Nigerian who found his was to England and tries so much to be English. Loves them with his entire worthless life and will do anything to be next to them, while forgetting who he is and his own color. Tueh!

Eyes don dey open and I love it. Jamie certainly has woken us up.
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics

And when the dust settles, Salah could win all the AfCONs his heart desires, when the ballot opens, it won’t mean much in the eyes of the cross drawers. That’s the point sailing over TikToked heads evidently.

Rather than wage war vs a barely understandable Scouser, why not seek clarification from the powers that be on the weighting of AfCON in such matters. This isn’t the first time the tournament has been talked down, such opinion has its origin. Let the people who “matter” in such matters be called to the stand to speak their “truths”.

@BP, streaming statistics casually overlook the viewings from television sets and in doing so, lose much of their meaning. 7th is credible nonetheless.
