Good goal by Osimhen
Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Osimhen is my kind of striker. He is the perfect striker. He can pass, he can hold the ball, he is fast, and he is a good finisher. Even when he doesn't score, he is still involved in the game.

His ability to control balls in the air, his athletic ability.
The last SE player we had who could do that was the late Rashidi Yekini.
And Osimhen is younger and better technically than Yekini at the same age.

With Victor manning our front line, our future is very bright!

iF Rohr had his way Ighalo would still be the starter for Nigeria and Osimhen would be on the bench. Refused to play him at Afcon, not even as a sub until the last game.

He was a younger player full of potential. I have seen nothing that says the coach does not believe him.
Timing is everything and he stays healthy the next few years are his until we start questioning why the coach did not play the next young potential over him.

How this guy was benched by Rohr at Afcon despite scoring more than 20 goals in Belgium that season is still a mystery.

Eh, I cannot believe we are still having this debate.
Ighalo scored the most goals in the competition. Clearly the faith the coach had in him was justified.
Also, you were not with the coach and team behind the scenes. You dont know what led to Ighalo's retirement from the SE. To second guess the Rohr even at this stage does not make sense.

Just move on and be happy we have Osimhen leading that front line now. We still need to find a reliable backup for him though.

Thank you. Nigerians love to overreact.
Ighalo won the golden boot, and they are still questioning Rohr's decision to start him.
Timing is everything. Its Victor's time now. Just pray he stays healthy and continues to progress to his full potential.

Rohr didn't even want to bring him in as a sub. He was saying things like Osimhen is not strong enough. That is the kind of coach Nigeria currently have as coach of the Eagles.

He was benched by the highest goalscorer in AFCON, and still one of the consistent scorers in the game. We should be happy we have both players.
