What if Rohr wins Afcon?

Post by EMIR KONGI JAFFI JOFFA »

It's looking like the NFF has realized it has no other option but to honour the contract it signed unless they cough up $600k, a sum the CBN doesn't even have. Anyway sha, assume he takes the team to AFCON and wins in a ugly way like 3 draws to get out of the first rd, goiong to overtime vs a lower ranked team in the quaters etc. would you still want him fired?

Stranger things have happened.....the last few months have been challenging but one thing I know about my pipu is that we never do things the easy way

Having said that, 5 of the 6 WC qualifying games (CV away the exception) have been embarrassing....the only saving grace is that we continue to create chances even with the pedestrian build up

We can't afford to replace the coach nor pay his replacement.....ALUTA CONTINUA!!!
IN OUR CASE, THERE IS NO TIME. NO SERIOUS COACH WILL TAKE THIS JOB

Pasamu on Monday Feb 22nd 2010 post ANC- I will repeat again, the problem with our team was never ability or personnel or even tactics . It was confidence pure and simple confidence. Amodus team had been spat upon, anything they did was dismissed as insignificant To see the team going from playing brilliant football against Egypt in the first half of their ANC group game to the cautious fear laden play against Zambia was sad.

It could happen. In a tournament, the best team does not always win, and a team can have a good run of 5 or 6 games. Zambia and Greece are examples of that.

Greece is an example not Zambia. You are talking as if you don't know who has pedigree in African football.

Last time we drew with Cape Verde we went on to win AFCON in 2013.

Zambia has three Africa Cup of Nations final appearances to its credit, winning the 2012 tournament
with victory over Ivory Coast in the final.

I will celebrate and totally give him the credit. I won't run away from the forum like some did when Keshi won.

Rohr winning the AFCON is as good a chance as me taking Beyonce on a romantic date and retiring with her for the night...

Crazier things have happened, but I doubt it, he will find a way to sabotage himself.

It's possible IF and only IF he still remains the coach come AFCON and he adds some quality players to improve that midfield especially in that attacking mid position, then ditches his love story with the mediocre Ekong and Balogun partnership in defence, considering that the AFCON this time will be approved for a more expanded list, he will have more options out of a larger player pool to choose from... then he might stand a chance, afterall he somehow made it to the semi finals last time despite playing mostly old and tired players, a weak midfield, and largely tepid football... But who are we kidding, Rohr will always be Rohr.

Zambia was excellent in that tournament.

Certainly, anything is possible, especially in a tournament of several games, but is such happening with coach Rohr in charge possible? It seems he is already gone based on several articles telling us of his impending departure
