Respect, the African and Arab Cup champions.
They went 36(?) games without a loss and 4 years without blanks.
Now the blanks are coming in bunches.

Group E na die o.
As things stand now, anytin can happun!
Imagine Algeria beating Ivory Coast and then SL beating Eq Guinea in the last group game, both of which are possible.
In fact as long as Algeria beat Ivory Coast which they have to do to have any chance of progressing, then either of them could easily end up in third place…. meaning we could potentially meet them in the next round.
Best scenario for us is for them to draw…or Algeria lose.
IC progress with 5 points+, Algeria are eliminated.
We avoid both for now.

I didn't watch, or care to know, but because you brought it, do you mean they won the ARAB CUP?

I think Algeria will come out for their game against Ivory coast 'smoking', but such approach is what might effectively sink them, unless they are lucky to score first.Damunk wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 8:22 am Group E na die o.

Really? These teams (Algeria and Egypt), did they go with their regular players for the Arab cup? If no, then they are not advantaged as I thought the Arabian tournament would have given them. So, ...

They will find it extremely tough against CIV, I will not be surprised if they get knocked out
Re: So Algeria never shake net in dis AFCON?
Not their top Europe-based stars but as you know their teams include a lot of home, North Africa and Saudi-based players.Odas wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 2:22 pmReally? Anything can happen in this game. I wouldn't be shocked by a 2-0 Algeria win, a 2-0 CIV win or a 0-0 draw.
I strongly suspect we'll be facing the Equatorians in the next round.

The humid conditions seem to sap their energy in the second half against EG they could not muster any will to attack and simply gave up.
I think against Ivory Coast they will crumble again.
