Re: Nigeria vs ghana(WC playoffs)
True, but honestly Nigeria has much better players at the moment. Ghana has two good midfielders in Partey and Kudus plus one good attacker in Sulemana. The rest is meh. It's much harder to get something out of a squad at short notice without the quality to back it up.airwolex wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:38 pmThey will be extra motivated. Nothing will give them more pleasure thann beating us to a WC slot.

I wanted to avoid Cameroon at all costs.
I think I prefer Ghana to Egypt, because the Wgyptians offer a different style, while Ghana is just a worse version of ourselves.
Their defence and goalkeeper are weaknesses.
Hopefully Kudus remains injured.

Lol, from what I saw in this Afcon, we should be alright. This is the best time to play them. Imagine if it was in the days of Gyan, Appiah, Muntari, Essien, Mensah etc.
They will be spitting fire, but unless they manage to recruit, Hudson Odiloi, Nketiah and Lamptey, our quality should tell.

Re: Nigeria vs ghana(WC playoffs)
Jose Peseiro hasn't signed any contract yet, from all indications NFF want to permanently keep Eguavoen.
Re: Nigeria vs ghana(WC playoffs)
Hudson-Odoi is already capped for England.airwolex wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:46 pm Lol, from what I saw in this Afcon, we should be alright. This is the best time to play them. Imagine if it was in the days of Gyan, Appiah, Muntari, Essien, Mensah etc.

Oh really? I think they should go heavily for Nketiah and Lamptey, those two would transform their squad. Aren't Salisu abd Schlupp Ghanaians too?marutimon wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:48 pmHudson-Odoi is already capped for England.airwolex wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:46 pm Lol, from what I saw in this Afcon, we should be alright. Yeah, I wanted any team but Cameroon. We couldn’t beat them the last two times we played them. That Anguissa is a beast.vancity eagle wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:44 pm I wanted to avoid Cameroon at all costs.

Great!! It makes sense to give the ranked teams an advantage.Bigpokey24 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:27 pmwe do

I mean those were friendly games with most of our key players missing, in proper tournaments we've seemed to get the better of Cameroon lately.Synopsis wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:50 pmYeah, I wanted any team but Cameroon. Yes. Salisu is good as well and with Djiku they should form a good defensive partnership in the middle.airwolex wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:50 pmOh really? The backbone is there with Partey, Sulemana and Kudus.
But for whatever reason Salisu is refusing callups:

Re: Nigeria vs ghana(WC playoffs)
Felix Afena-Gyan from AS Roma is another interesting prospect. In theory they could massively upgrade the squad by March...
Re: Nigeria vs ghana(WC playoffs)
Osimhen will be back and we will definitely get to see exciting talents like Amoo and maybe Lookman... Simon Moses is in the form of his life and the Eguavoen managerial effect looks good so far, then we have the likes of Awoniyi, Iheanacho, Olayinka etc and of course King Ndidi and our new maestro Aribo waiting to wreck havoc... for the first time in years I feel more confident in this team, we couldn't have gotten a better team to beat than Ghana

Re: Nigeria vs ghana(WC playoffs)
Good chance for us. It will be difficult but we have a good chance. By the way, does Andre Ayew's straight red card against Comoros counts as a 1 or 3-match suspension?
You can control your choice, but not necessarily the consequences
