Super Eagles Coach- NFF Might Ditch Peseiro Again As Minister Orders Fresh Interview For All Four Coaches - OwnGoal Nigeria
https://www.owngoalnigeria.com/2022/05/ ... r-coaches/

Going by reports, Jose Peserio may be sidetracked again for the job of the SE Manager.
here are strong indication that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will be forced to make a u-turn on the appointment of Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro as the new coach of the Super Eagles. Peseiro is widely tipped to be named as coach as he is the preferred choice of the NFF but the minister for youths and sports Sunday Dare isn't sold out on the choice of the Portuguese.

Dare according to Wale Ajayi, who is a close associate want the NFF to meet with all interested candidates again after the federal government agreed to foot the bills of the next foreign coach of the team.

NFF picked Peseiro as he is the one whose wages won't be a problem to the football house but Dare is saying that with the federal government now in charge of the salary of the incoming coach, the NFF shouldn't settle for Peseiro who according to him isn't the best among the quartet of coaches shortlisted.

The others are Ernesto Valverde, Philip Cocu and Laurent Blanc. If the ministry gets their way Peseiro will for the second time in four months face the disappointment of getting rejected twice by the NFF.

He was supposed to take over from interim coach Austine Eguavoen after the AFCON but the move was halted with Eguavoen allowed to handled the team for the World Cup qualifiers playoff which ended in disappointment.
And according to other report by "scorenigeria.com" https://scorenigeria.com.ng/nff-get-dea ... les-coach/,
NFF get deadline to name new Super Eagles coach
The NFF have till next week to name a new foreign coach to head the Super Eagles, officials have told SCORENigeria

It was reliably gathered that the sports ministry has been far from impressed with a proposal by the NFF for new Super Eagles.

The ministry has insisted that the best man be appointed and not the most affordable as has been the argument of the NFF.

The Federal Government has said it will take over the payment of the Super Eagles after the previous arrangement for sponsor to do so ended up with Gernot Rohr owed several months’ pay.

“The ministry has approached Mr President and secured approval for the Federal Government to now pay the salary of the new coach,” an official informed SCORENigeria

“All the NFF need do is to pick a solid coach and forward his contract and salary requirements to the FGN through the ministry.”

It was further gathered that a delay in appointment of a new coach may not be unconnected with the reluctance of the NFF to heed the directives and advice of the ministry that the most qualified of the four shortlisted candidates be picked.

NFF reportedly recommended Jose Peserio, who they argued is affordable and has agreed to live and work in Nigeria.
So, if the Federal Government is going to bankroll his wages, they better look for and pick a reasonable coach and not a too old one.

Cheers

Pinnick’s NFF no longer have the mandate to continue to run our football but due to selfish reasons they continue to pretend like they have it. Anything they do now will be washed out in a few months by the regime. What they need to do is resign and call for new elections.
OCCUPY NFF!!

I don’t know where to start:

1. The govt shouldn’t be paying for the new coach’s salary . No wonder the minister always have a say in the matters of the NFF.

2. Why hire a new coach if they will be new leadership in a few months?
