From my earlier memories, the King was the King.

My father passed away last year. He never stopped talking about Pele when football came up. He introduced me to Pele and Brazil when I started learning football in the 1970s.

It was magical then. It remains magical now and always will be.

Thanks for the memories King Pele.
My condolences on the loss of your Father. Never an easy one.

Pele was the Muhammad Ali of football. He transcended the sport ⚽️ and his name and face were instantly recognizable across the globe: even by people who are not football fans.

Rest in peace Arantes.
Everything in the beautiful game that is worthy of that tag, is defined by his standards.

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Far from perfect, but he always acted as the ambassador of the good and positive.

Here Pele cries on the should of the keeper Gilmar after the victory against Sweeden in 1958, by a score of 5-2. Pele was 17. He is still the youngest player to have ever won the WC.

I'm not sure why you think that either.
