Champions league apart, it is worth noting that our home grown players have been the most productive performers for their respective clubs. This ought to suggest strongly that our main focus should be on home grown football rather than this over reliance on ready made foreign born footballers
Cheers.

Re: How many so called abroad recruits are playing in the Champs League ?
This is what i have been pointing out . The home grown ( played youth football at any level in Nigeria, born in Nigeria etc )are always the ones the European clubs break the banks for, the home grown are always the ones nominated for APOY.... I am yet to see all those yanga ones getting anything as far world football etc..TonyTheTigerKiller wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 4:56 am Champions league apart, it is worth noting that our home grown players have been the most productive performers for their respective clubs. The abroad recruits
Okoye( 3rd choice at Watford) rumor has it he may be heading back to Holland)
Ekong just lfe the Championship moved to Salernitana
Akpoguma Hoffenhiem
Bassey , Ajaxs
Ebuehi Empoli
Aribo Southampton, cannot get mins
Desser , Cronese, they haven't even won a game in the league
These are the world beaters , these are the players the so called scout who lived in the UK brought to the SE along with **** and they claim they are better than Osimhen, Iwobi, Moffi, Samu,Moses, Etebo, Lookman, Dennis Paul etc

Re: How many so called abroad recruits are playing in the Champs League ?
So because Osimehn is world class we are to pretend that we don't need foreign born ?
What kind of stupidity is this ?
Iwobi is perhaps our most important and consistent performer, without him our midfield collapses.
Aina is by far our best wingback.
Lookman is by far our best winger and also one of the top players in Italy.
Without the "foreigners" it will be Awaziem and Ozornwafor in defence. Good luck with that.
Abeg this team needs all the help we can get, no matter where they were born.
And for the last time recruiting foreign born does not mean we neglect home grown talents. Both strategies can work side to side. As if one cannot walk and chew gum at the same time.

Re: How many so called abroad recruits are playing in the Champs League ?
The problem is not “abroad recruits”. It’s the quality of AR we tend to get. Sometimes, we tend to get the ones that have been rejected by their countries of birth or are so far down the pecking order, that they have no hope.
If purge dey worry you, you no dey select toilet

Lookman is an abroad recruit. Probably our most in form player after Osimhen.Bigpokey24 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 3:51 pm The abroad recruits

And what if we got Saka? He’d be one of our top players by far.
Re: How many so called abroad recruits are playing in the Champs League ?
I forgot Iwobi is an abroad recruit too. Daft thread indeed. We need a combination of both aspects.

that is the point/ We are lining up for low quality players , that will not improve or elevate the SE

Abi o. On this forum, someone is posting about Chuba Akpom, a Championship player. It won’t shock me if he’s on the next “list”…fighting for a spot with OsimhenBigpokey24 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 4:52 pmthat is the point/ We are lining up for low quality players , that will not improve or elevate the SE

He played for England youth teams before later declaring for Nigeria after recruitment.

He played for England youth teams and was developed in England.
Left Nigeria when he was 4.
Fikayo Tomori was born in Canada, is he not English ?

Iwobi
Aribo
Lookman
Aina
Bright Samuel
Ajayi
Balogun
Troost
Akpoguma
All have been upgrades on home grown players we have.
The only position where our home grown players are consistently better than foreign born options is the striker position.
Osimehn, Iheanacho, Sadiq, Moffi, Okereke
After our striking department, we just are not producing quality talents in Nigeria.

Re: How many so called abroad recruits are playing in the Champs League ?
That’s the whole point. If the likes of Saka are committing to Nigeria, who would be complaining? Instead of fortifying our local systems to produce the type of players who can fit seamlessly into the senior team, we are pursuing players who can’t make a real difference because of their limited capacity
Cheers.

Is Onyedika better than Iwobi, Aribo, Ndidi just because he plays in champions league ?
Zaidu Sanusi is playing champions league but he cannot clean Aina's boots.
Daft thread with no serious level of cognitive thinking.
