And he’s only 27. He will turn 28 in December. It feels like he’s been around forever.

Wow. Forgot about Paul Mukairu. Good player who hasn’t really reached the potential he showed a few years back.

Has it been (nearly) a year already? Time really flies. Here goes for the 2023-2024 season:

Boniface and Tella - 🇩🇪 Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal league and cup double, and Europa League finalists)

Lookman - Europa League (Atalanta: Italy 🇮🇹)

Oshoala1 - UEFA Women's Champions League (Barcelona: Spain 🇪🇸). Becomes the first African to win the WCL 3 times.

Onyedika - Belgian 🇧🇪 league championship (Club Brugge)

Ndidi and Iheanacho - EFL Championship (Leicester City: England)

Troost-Ekong - Greek championship (PAOK: Greece 🇬🇷)

Peter Olayinka - Serbian league and cup double (Red Star Belgrade: Serbia 🇷🇸)

Please feel free to add others.

I was briefly in Kosovo where my team "Jide Kosovo" finished 6th runner up in the Lorpa Semi-Amateur Sunday League Division B.

It goes without saying that we are absolutely stoked with the victory, and while it is not quite as impressive as some.of the above, it sure as hell didn't feel any different.

Up the Jide Roosters 🐓
Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT
