Chukwueze will do well as a CAM not a WINGER

Post by Tobi17 »

I'm watching one of AFCON matches (Nig vs Equatorial Guinea), and I just realized Chukwueze maybe on instruction drifted into a more advanced midfield role and had a field day dribbling around the EQ players and even laying some neat passes to Osimhen (who missed 2 sitters from such passes). Why can't we ditch this wing play nonsense and maybe explore the attacking depth of these players in a 352 formation?

His best position is on the flanks. He loses the ball too often and doing that in the middle of the pitch would be disastrous.

What do we need him to defend for there? I say we try it. Tired of Iwobi in that spot

Apparently, Chukwueze took time out of camp to attend his grandmother’s burial and only arrived back on the day of the match. He got back just in time to join the team bus to the stadium.

Yeah Chukwueze can ! He is very creative and could be the most creative player on his day ! But his consistency is my worries.

He is a winger. You can use a friendly to try it or experiment. Don't do it in an important world cup qualifer with no training. This are the same fans that will call for his sack if it doesn't work out. Finidi is the coach. He should do it his way.

the guy that can't see passes, and loses the ball too much, deserves to be in the center of the park

And dribbles with only one foot.

Much better to try Lookman or Ejuke in that position.

Not sure if you watched him under Setien @ Villareal, where he was absolutely deadly. That was the tactics Setien used, were Chukwueze was asked to drift in.

Nigerian fans or agents is a part of the problem with Nigerian football. This same people that are advocating for Chukwuze to be CAM is advocating for their client to be invited to play as winger. Another one says play Okoye to give him confidence. This same people will lead the charge for the sacking for Finidi if things go wrong.
