Re: D’Tigress at the Olympics…
The girls were amazing and fought like the Tigress they are - a really great effort from all and well done, a first full game of theirs I will be watching and it was thoroughly worth the time. The coach is really good, she is a keeper

Do you mean Arike Ogunbowale? Her father and I work for the same organization. He’s a very nice man. I’m already putting in the word. He told me a few months ago all the work and traveling he had to endure to make sure Arike and her brother, Dare (plays in the NFL) made it to the pros. He said they started with soccer.Rogermilla wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 9:17 pm Nigeria should try and convince Arike who plays for Dallas Wings to play for the Tigress. Can you imagine if she were at then Olympics with them?. Also Nneka Ogbumnike

The Nigeria
women's basketball
team should be immensely proud of themselves. They were excellent in this Olympics and gave the best team in the world by a mile (USA
) a real test and their toughest game.
Ezinne Kalu is an outrageously good player. She has been the best player from any country at this Olympics and averages nearly 20 points a game.
Nigeria is lucky to have her and she is good enough to play for the USA
(which she could have done as she was born in Newark, NJ).
Ultimately - size matters. Nigeria's 2 best players are 5'8 and 5'9. The USA's team had players who are 6'9, 6'5, and 6'4. That massive size difference (rather than talent) was the difference.

Guys help. I am confused about something. D’Tigress were tied on points with Australia but had a better point difference than Australia. So, why did Australia finish second ahead of D’Tigress? Was Nigeria cheated? Australia is playing for the bronze medal

Cheers.

We had a better points difference than Australia. How did they beat us to second place? It looks like Nigeria was cheated. DisgustingTbite wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 11:41 pm
Against Australia we could have had a bigger point differential, but thought it was enough and coasted at the end.
Against France we kept it tight in the 1st half, but 2nd half we let the gap widen a bit too much by playing too high a tempo. Problem with the tempo is the French can shoot. Especially from deep. They were draining those 3 points easily, and by upping the tempo our defense was too slow to regroup.
Then the last game against Canada, we should really have closed that game out with no less than 12 points ahead.
Now we have been pipped by Australia to the 2nd spot.
Cheers.

Very nice but I’d still like to know how Australia finished above Nigeria in the standings
As for Rena Wakama, she should be replaced immediately by one of those white people we love so much

Re: D’Tigress at the Olympics…
I went to Google to search for an answer and I found one of the most ridiculous I’ve ever heard. They used only the points differential between the 3 teams tied at 2-1, not the overall points differential. If that’s the case then this amounts to bold-faced cheating. Shame on the Olympic basketball organizers, whoever they may be
