Lawal Wants NFA to Wake Up

Super Eagles' utility player, Garba Lawal has called on the Nigeria Football Association, NFA, to step up the national team's preparations for the Germany 2006 preliminary matches which commence in June.
Lawal who is presently with Swedish side If Elfsborg told www.kickoffnigeria.com that the country's lukewarm attitude towards the preparation has been a source of concern for him.
He barred his mind:" I think of our World Cup qualification every time. Nigerians should bear in mind that a group with teams like Algeria, Rwanda, Angola, Zimbabwe and Gabon cannot be said to be an easy one.
"I am praying for our qualification and I hope others at home are praying for us too. We cannot afford not to be in the 2006 World Cup, but we have to be serious with our preparation."
Lawal said, "We have to work very hard to make it from our group. Rwanda and other teams in our group will want to be in the World Cup finals, that is why we have to be on our toes to be in another final.
"With planning and hard work we should make it."
