As far as I know, Mourinho is looking at, at least 6
1 LB
1 RB
1 CB
2 CM (Defensive Mid and Central Mid)
2 FW.
You guys also need to keep an eye on your goalkeeper situation.

Well, you have to ask Mourinho. I know for a fact that United has contacted:
1 LB - Mendy (rumored to have contacted Tierny) - Blind and Darmian are out
1 RB - Semedo (but L'Equipe claim its going to be Serge Aurier
1 CB - Lindelof (although the british papers think its keane)
2 CM - Fabinho and a CM (the English papers think he wants Eric Dier) Dont forget he is replacing Morgan and Schweisteiger. Although one could argue that Perreira comes back from Granada
2 FW - Griezmann (And he has been saying he will get another striker for some weeks not. And with Ibra now out, that is clearly certain).
Not happening. Mourinho will NEVER consider a keeper like Navas. NEVER! Mourinho likes very tall goalkeepers who are great in the air. Kasper Schemeichel was seen at Old Trafford last week Thursday, and the RUMOR is that he is the one who will replace De Gea.If DDG and Kaylor Navas do a straight swap i will not be too too mad

Re: Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
I think Man Utd need
*GK (ready made replacement for when DDG eventually goes to Madrid): I would get Pickford - he is an excellent long term prospect
*RB (to alternate with Tony Valence): I would get Serge Aurier
*CD: (for the inevitable defensive injury crises that Man Utd suffers): I would get Keane back since he already knows and loves the club
*CM: Man Utd have sold 6 central midfielders in two seasons. Too much load shedding. Rabiot would do nicely.
*CF: is there a deadly affordable free scoring CF out there somewhere? (Mbappe or Lukaku?) Griezmann would cost so much money that it would leave nothing behind to buy other players.
*Winger: after the exits of ADM, Nani, and Zaha, (and Tony V's conversion to RB) Man Utd lack pace and trickery on the flanks. I would put in a cheeky bid for Douglas Costa or Coman (both of whom are collecting splinters from sitting on the bench at Bayern). If Pereira comes back from loan next season, it could freshen up the attack.
Get Rid: Darmian (bang average), Zlatan (can he come back from a cruciate injury at his age?), Lingard (can run fast, but not much else), Johnny Kills (technically gifted player, lovely fella, slows down the attack), and send TFM, Tuanzebe, Januzaj, and Shaw out on loan somewhere he can get regular minutes without the pressure of Jose bullying hm every week.
Jury Still Out: Janujaz - is he a misunderstood talent? Or does he lack the mental fortitude to succeed at the top level? I'd say send him out on loan to a club that is not fighting relegation every season.

Re: Man Utd about to shell 40 million for Bailly
I laughed when Vardy kicked out/lashed out at Bailly off the ball at the KP earlier this season. Vardy is either a very brave or very foolish man for trying that on Bailly (who doesn't exactly look like a pushover).
Someone posted this photo saying it was Eric begging Mark Red not to let him play with Jonesy or Smalling.

Devils, so community shield is a trophy?
I just saw some Manu fan that said that you lot had won 2 trophies thus far.
Shouldn't it be called a ribbon or a badge or something like that?

Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT
Re: Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
Pogba might miss the Manchester derby with an injury. He got injured in the 88th minute of a match where Man Utd were winning 2-0. After playing 120 minutes (including extra-time) 3 days earlier, why was he still on the pitch in the 88th minute of a game Man Utd were winning comfortably? (just before the Manchester derby) Jose has been doing this "I never sub off Pogba or Zlatan no matter the scoreline or match situation". Now Man Utd have paid for it - as Pogba fell victim to a shin saboteur late in the game.
Lesson learned: when you are winning comfortably, take off your star players, rest them, and give the young players valuable game experience in a no pressure situation.
Tuanzebe and TFM could have done with the minutes.

Yes it is a trophy the same way UEFA super cup is, the same way World club cup is and the same way FIFA confederation cup is. You qualify for it you aim to win it and add to your trophy cabinet.Tbite wrote:Devils, so community shield is a trophy?

It is most likely between Chelsea and Arsenal next season.

Eric Bailly is a sensational defender. So easy to forget he’s 23-years-old given that he is Manchester United’s commander in defence.

Re: Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
Nice of Fellaini to get the red card neck deep in an injury crisis. To make matters worse, Timbo also managed to get a shoulder injury in the 10 minutes he was on the pitch last night. Injured and unavailable list:
Jonesy (injured by Smalling) - out for season
Smalling - out for season
Zlatan - out for season
Mark Red - out for season
Johnny Kills- out for season (or may return at end of season)
TFM: ??
Pogba: ??
Fellaini - 3 match suspension
So Man Utd is left with only one recognised CD, and only 35 yo Carrick and Andrew Smith to carry the fight in midfield. Good idea to sell Schneiderlin then...

Re: Manchester United - News, Developments & Season
Only 2 of the kids (TFM and Tuanzebe) look ready at present because the other promising young players are either out on loan (Januzaj, Pereira, Riley), or have been sold (Keane, Fletcher). Since TFM is injured, Man Utd is down to one playable 18yo youth team player (Tuanzebe) who has a grand total of 15 minutes of first team football experience in his entire career.
This stage of the season (Europa SFs and where every game is a 'Cup Final' for the top 4) is not a great time to throw kids in and subject them to that kind of pressure. Better to blood them in less pressured environments (of which there had been plenty in recent weeks):
Exhibit A: Man Utd is winning 2-0 against a team bottom of the league, that is down to 10 men, and with no confidence. Two youngsters are on the bench (Timbo and Tuanzebe). Instead of giving them valuable match experience Jose brought on 27yo experienced Dutch international and former Dutch player of the year Daley Blind. The kids could have done with the experience of a 20 minute run-out in a no-pressure situation.
Exhibit B: Man Utd are comfortably winning 2-0 (again) and two youngsters (Timbo and Tuanzebe) are on the bench (again). For some odd reason Jose thinks his 90 million star layer needs to still be on the pitch in the 88th minute after playing 120 minutes (including extra-time) 3 days earlier. 2 minutes from full time, Pogba fell victim to a shin saboteur, gets injured, and misses a crucial Manchester derby.
Alternate scenario: if Jose had brought on the kids in those games - (a) Pogba would not have been injured, would have played in the Manchester derby instead of Fellaini (b) Fellaini would not be suspended (because he would not have played and got the red card); (c) both Pogba and Fellaini would be available at this crucial stage of the season; and (d) the kids would have got valuable experience to ease their transition to first team football.
