Uzoho, Ebuehi, Idowu
Our new found gems, let's discuss guys!!!
Re: Uzoho, Ebuehi, Idowu
They did well.
But it's the previous round of discoveries that stood out: Iwobi, Kele and Ndidi. They were immense.

And we wonder why Rohr has refused to give ebuehi a chance till now, shehu is good but ebuehi is from another planet,
Idowu is a complete baller
Ozoho is the 1st choice keeper
Great game by Rohr but what's the beef with onyekuru? Why not give the kid a chance, I hope he is not reserving a spot for junk Simon.

Re: Uzoho, Ebuehi, Idowu
Ebuehi is the truth. I was so impressed today. I have not followed him but he was poised and showed great positioning. Definitely a keeper. We have talent!
Re: Uzoho, Ebuehi, Idowu
Uzoho is a good goalkeeper. Akpeyi nor be am.

Re: Uzoho, Ebuehi, Idowu
Ebuehi is a baller!! Polished technique...if we are to play with wing backs, he needs to start.
Re: Uzoho, Ebuehi, Idowu
Ebuehi put in an outstanding shift today...
Idowu scored with practically his first touch, but did not really show much. Meanwhile, Uzoho looked self-assured (something that has lately seemed in short supply among our GKs), but not particularly tested. All in all, the squad is rounding out nicely.

Don't worry Prof, our other resident Prof will come to explain how we do not see Akpeyi in training..Sir V wrote:Uzoho is a good goalkeeper. Akpeyi nor be am.

Idowu locked down the left side of defense and could have scored a second goal, what game did you watch? Idowu must start if Rohr knows what he is doing, Idowu made omerou regain confidenceGotti wrote:Ebuehi put in an outstanding shift today...

Re: Uzoho, Ebuehi, Idowu
Ebuehi and Idowu were really impressive, Uzoho steadied the ship but also wasn't too much tested, but then again anything is better than Akpeyi, even if we put a traffic cone there, I mean how bad can you be, when I saw him drop that ball my eye brow went up like why would you do that, there are Argentine forwards right next to you why not drop kick it out, I didn't know the guy was a mad man.

Re: Uzoho, Ebuehi, Idowu
Idowu was decent, the goal skewed perception in his favor.
Ebuehi overplayed the ball like a typical gra gra player which almost gave Argentina a scoring opportunity, apart from that he was great.
Uzoho is the goalie I've been waiting for.

Akpeyi is a bag of nerves.... school boy error.maceo4 wrote:Ebuehi and Idowu were really impressive, Uzoho steadied the ship but also wasn't too much tested, but then again anything is better than Akpeyi, even if we put a traffic cone there, I mean how bad can you be, when I saw him drop that ball my eye brow went up like why would you do that, there are Argentine forwards right next to you why not drop kick it out, I didn't know the guy was a mad man.
Even defending the free kick his positioning and decision making was whack. I really hope this is the last we have seen of him. He is a walking disaster
Re: Uzoho, Ebuehi, Idowu
Ebuehi and Shehu will start depending on the formaion. Ebuehi is a defenders defender while Shehu gives you more going forward. I see them both owning the right side. The left looked more balanced when Idowu came on and good on him. He will own it with more games, but Aina will push him. Aina gave us physicality that will be needed against some teams.
Uzoho's position should not even be in dispute now. And Akpeyi has no business in the 23. We have 7 months to find a 3rd keeper, as I still don't think Vince should come out of retirement. See as all these young kids are taking their chance. Why not continue with the trend and find another young keeper who will know he is there for the experience only. Don't know the current situation with Alampasu, but one thing I have learnt is that Rohr is a good judge of players and if he doesn't think he cuts it, them, he should find someone new.
Overall, I am glad the heads didn't drop. Waka-man kept saying on the game thread that we were playing well, and I agreed. They boys got just rewards for being BY FAR the better side.

While I NEVER said anything about Idowu playing badly - because he did not...
He however did NOT "lock down" ish, when cross after cross came from his wing.

Akpeyi is a real head case...
But in fairness, the assistant raised his flag and he prolly thought the ref blew for offsides.

Re: Uzoho, Ebuehi, Idowu
I have seen Ebuehi play, and I was actually worried he might be too attack minded. No competition going forward, far better than Shehu. Shehu for me maintained his place because he is more suited for the qualifiers again robust African opposition.Shownoja wrote:Ebuehi and Shehu will start depending on the formaion. Definitely not on the Idowu bandwagon yet. Great goal but a little tentative in defense.

Calm down! Ebuehi was fantatic, but Shehu has been fantastic. It is up to the both of them to work hard and the coach will select his choice.9jaMan wrote:Tobi17 wrote:Our new found gems, let's discuss guys!!!

Great game by Rohr but what's the beef with onyekuru? Why not give the kid a chance, I hope he is not reserving a spot for junk Simon.
As for Onyekuru, I wanted to see him play. But i guess it was clear that the coach wanted to give everyone minutes. And with only 6 subs available, Idowu, Ebuehi, Uzoho, Kayode, Musa, Omeruo deserve to get minutes. Onyekuwu got 20 against Algeria. Now, the coach can spend the next 3 months looking at all their performances + training + attitude and see who returns for the next game.
