Victor Eletu
on the bench for AC Milan for the uefa europa league match
He was on the bench this past weekend as well.
We need to look forward.
We need to build our midfield.

Re: Victor Eletu
VE,
Which top 5 NEW midfielders do you think we should integrate into the SE going forward? I believe Iwobi, Onyeka, and Ndidi are the first team midfield foundation we have right now.

Re: Victor Eletu
We need to start integrating the likes of Eletu, Akinsanrinmo, and Fredrick into the SE.

Re: Victor Eletu
Iwobi, Oyneka, Ndidi are the core
We need to drop Aribo
Yusuf has gone down in value after the afcon though he should still be somewhat in the mix
Onyedika should make way for now although he remains our one true DM.
Ready for callup in March
Fisayo Dele Bashiru - we need an understudy for Iwobi
Nwobodo - we need to see what he offers
Nwakali - we need passers and creative midst
In the mix
Iffeani Matthew
Olawuyin
Keep a close eye on
Victor Eletu
Ebenezer Akansanmiro
Tok Nmandi
When these guys start playing they should be called. Perhaps even before then.
If they declare
Folorunsho
Tim Ireogubam
Noni Madueke
Carney Chukwuemeka
Lesley Ugochukwu

Really ? Then why the complain that we don't have midfielders ?vancity eagle wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:20 pmIwobi, Oyneka, Ndidi are the core

Re: Victor Eletu
We must not waste time on Folorunsho, he should be in the mix for the March friendlies
I am happy
Re: Victor Eletu
Friendlies are meant to test new players. I won't invite any of the Afcon mf for the next friendly. Lets test new players.
Winners do it the right way.

Re: Victor Eletu
That is just dumb.
You have to have some continuity.
That's how you build a team.
No country on this earth will just drop their entire team to play a friendly in a FIFA window.
I would call Iwobi, Onyeka, Ndidi and call up the rest new midfielders.
So another 3 midfielders.
There must be 6 midfielders every callup.

How do they get to merge with the established midfielders if they are all new?
Anyway, na you get time to dey answer Ohaha-henhen…

Re: Victor Eletu
If u ask me the midfielders that are fast hungry creative are unknown names playing in NNL, TCC or NPFL etc
Re: Victor Eletu
Continuity of bad play is bad play. When are you ever going to test new players. Remember Nwabili debut against Mexico.
Winners do it the right way.

Re: Victor Eletu
There is nothing wrong with testing new players.
I am a complete advocate for that.
But it must be done in tandem with keeping a semblance of continuity.
The new players must be blended in with the old.
For instance I suggest we keep the core for continuity.
Iwobi, Ndidi, Onyeka
Then add any 3 midfielders of the following
Nwakali
Folorunsho
Eletu
Akansanmiro
Fisayo Bashiru
Nwobodo
That is how you properly build a team.

Re: Victor Eletu
Akinsanmiro has also been on Inter's bench for 2 of the last 3 matches, including their last match vs Roma.
Both these players also made the bench for a few matches last season as well.
If they are good enough for the bench of these teams they should be ripe for a SE callup, at least for friendlies to see how they integrate with the team.
Eletu and Akinsanimiro must be in the SE squad for Morocco 2025 and should be called up prior.

Agreed. But we know it won't happen.vancity eagle wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 6:09 am Akinsanmiro has also been on Inter's bench for 2 of the last 3 matches, including their last match vs Roma.

Re: Victor Eletu
I was eagerly anticipating Eletu's debut today. He displayed some seriousness and focus during the halftime warm-up session alongside established players like Chukwueze and Loftus-Cheek. I also noticed the camera lingering on him for some time. However, as AC Milan fell behind towards the end of the game, I knew he wouldn't get his chance today.

Ohenhen
Think for a minute what you wrote. It makes little sense. No one building a team can jettison everyone and try all new players. No way! Even the example of Nwabali that you provided saw him play with guys already established on the team.
There should be new lads introduced to the team. For me, however, I look forward to seeing strengthening of playing strategy and somewhat thinking of waydms to convincingly integrate Boniface into the core team. He seems at sea thus far.
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics
