Is Ryan Giggs the Greatest of all Time?

His goal at Everton last week meant he has scored in every single season since the Premier League came into existence, and was the 22nd straight year he has scored in top flight football. Some of his records might stand forever (or at least might stand for 50-100+ years). Can we realistically foresee another player scoring in the Premier League for 22 straight years? (i.e. he scored his first goal before his team-mates Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck were born, and around the time David de Gea and the Da Silva twins were born).

His records:

*Over 900 professional matches for Man Utd (excluding international matches for Wales).
*Goalscorer in 22 straight top flight seasons
*12 Premier League winner's medals
*Nearly 25 trophies won,
*Most assists in Premier League history (271)

I think the records in bold might stand for over 50 years.

Yet there has been a Premier League team in 7 of the last 8 CL finals. I blame the EPL fans that thrash their own top clubs while others play up theirs. When was the last time a german team won the CL?

Absolutely. One club legends like Giggs are a dying breed (Baresi, Maldini, Gerrard etc).
The ultimate testament to Giggs was the thunderous standing ovation he was given by Bilbao fans last season when he was subbed off in a European match AWAY in Spain.

Yeah, he sorted out those hamstring issues by: (a) doing yoga; and (b) retiring from international football. Both a and b helped to prolong his career. Even though he and Scholes are only a year apart in age, he broke into the Man U first team 3-4 years before Scholes.

Scholes is another amazing one: a small, 5ft 7in, 39yo asthmatic that runs the midfield in a league dominated by 6ft 4in 20-25 year old hyper fit athletes! Remember that Scholes used to get subbed off early in many games because his asthma prevented him from completing many games.
