Too late. Rijkaard should've made this substitution a long time ago. Also, the ref is DEFINITELY biased against Barca.

There have been 3 clear chances where Barca should've been given a penalty. But the monent a RM player is touched the damn ref blows his whistle. Now I understand why the Catalans want to secede from Spain !!! Blatant rigging.

eto'o proves himself 2 be world class...real madrid will have 2 reevaluate their defence after this 1...he made their defence look pretty weak.

barca won in every department of the game but the score line (which is all that matters)...guily and belletti should sit more often on the bench.

Etoo was stretchered off, covered in a blanket. Didn't look too good for him!

Anyway, this match lived up to its billing. IMO, it was football at its best, with all the top players looking like the Galacticos they are. Owen was influential in this one and even tho I think Valdes' positioning was suspect on his goal, he finished it off well. Beckham was tremendous today. He set up the Owen goal with a wonderful release from deep in midfield. Gravesen looked very solid in the DM spot. Ronnie played at his level of a few yrs ago too. Casillas was magnificent in goal too. Real deserve a lot of credit for this win. They truly showed up today.

Barca doesn't have anything to be ashamed of tho. They played a good game and had the bounces gone their way, things may have been a bit different. They are still up by 6 pts tho and have an easier schedule than Madrid down the stretch.. Hopefully, they don't self-destruct!

There is a worrisome spell cast over Barca and Cameroon right now - how bad is Eto'o's injury? It will be a sad loss for both if the injury is as bad as it looks from first takes. Apart from his "lago", the dude was awesome today but was let down by some of his team mates.

When I had Lux was going to start Owen,Ronaldo and Raul against Barca and drop Figo,I was mighty pleased.Figo is a ball hugger and so breaks the speed of the game.Owen,Ronaldo are goal thieves and Raul can play deep and make passes, freeing Becks to do the crosses and Gravesen to win the balls.Zidane in his natural role. But Salgado still stinks.Gaddemit.He is not in anyway a defender and the earlier he goes the better.

Gravesen marked Ronaldinho well though it could be that the guy was still recovering from his bug.Casillas?Please.He is Real footballer of the season.Helguerra and Pavon did not do badly either.
That Maxi Lopez is proving to be a cheat like Deco.Kept diving   .Eto'o,Ronaldinho, proved their mettle though it gladens my heart that Eto'o will be watching the WC in his Big Screen Plasma T.V(should feel like he is playing right?  ).Valdez did not act like himself at all.Made uncharacteristic errors. Now I know why Gio was sold.He messed up big time.
It was that the pasillo was followed by a paseo - a walk in the park. That Madrid ran out 4-1 winners and lead Barcelona by 17 points, that Barcelona can no longer get second place and could only watch as Ruud van Nistelrooy and Higuaín scored with their first touches, as Mahamadou Diarra ran rings around their midfield and as the Bernabéu roared "¡olé!" That Joan Laporta listened to fans - Madrid fans - chanting: "Laporta please stay!"

Good game for Madrid, especially Ronaldo and Raul who also scored.

More interesting liga. I just hope the injury is not too bad for Etoo. Could be bad news for Cameroon as well, not only Barca!!!

The Lago did look very bad. He was in an ideal position to score and whiffed.

Barca may be able to hold on to win this title but thir defense is not good at all. Oleguer and Gio are a bit vulnerable at times, and this will prevent them from beating the Chelseas at Milans of the world.

If I were in Rijkaard's shoes, next season, I'd move Edmilson back to central defense to play with Puyol and get the club president to buy a world class left back!

Valdez looked uncharacteristically suspect in the game today. His positioning on the Owen goal looked suspect. BTW, Zidane was awesome today!

No oh,he actually misplaced a lot of passes in the midfield. It was Gravesen and Becks who had better games.Oh and Big Fat Ronaldo. He was a thorn in their sides. His leg overs and general ball control gave us a glimpse of the Old Ronaldo.

Not sure yet, but first reports say Etoo could be out for between 3-8 weeks. Guess we will know more after a scan tomorrow or tuesday. Varying time between two websites in Spain.

I haven't seen the game but from the comments so far looking forward, especially with Ronaldo getting back his scoring boots.

How those points (in a couple of games after Lux took charge) would have been so good now.
