RIP to Ghana's Yakubu Abubakar

Post by Bigpokey24 »

The mother association of players in Ghana PFAG is shocked to learn of the death of former Ghanaian international Yakubu Abubakar aka Zapata.

The player passed away in Tema yesterday after a short illness ,something his colleagues can't simply come to terms with.

General Secretary Anthony Baffoe says they are still mourning the death of Abdoulaye Soulama only to be hit with that of Zapata.

He wished the family of the player well and called on all especially players to be more closer and care more for each other.

Yakubu played for Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam and won the Eridivise twice with them in 2002 and 2004.

He was also a member of the Black Stars in 2006.

Sheesh, 35. Young man.

May he rest in peace.
