Arsenal shouldn't pay his full buyout. What they should do is try to loan him out again in January to get some of the wages back. He has about 8 months and 2 weeks left on his deal. The gravy train is almost over. Then he will probably retire. No big club will sign Ozil that hasn't played in over a year.
But Raul started it all. In time, we might know what happened to the £20m or £22m payments to intermediaries for the Pepe deal under his watch being investigated by the club.
I am afraid Arsenal have been an embarrassment when it comes to Ozil.
Ozil's basic wage is rumoured to be £200g weekly. Ozil, not playing, if the rumours are correct, means the club saves £150g weekly.
Wenger himself regretted giving Mezut the contract.

You like to go on a tangent that always comes down to if you like or dislike a player. Then your next tangent is to dislike and oppose anyone that supports any player you dislike.

So you pick your targets on this simple rationale, we can see you are not happy with Arteta because he selected Ozil from the outset. To make matters worse, he did the same with Xhaka.

The fact that you follow such a path does not mean it applies to others or everything. Wenger is a huge fan of Ozil, but that does not mean he will not give is opinion on what he thought was best for the club.
It is so easy to speak with hindsight, but go back to how our two best players (Ozil and Sanchez) ran down their contracts, leaving the club in a position where the loss of their two best players was a real possibility again. The pressure on the club was huge.
Even though Wenger felt Ozil's contract was too much, the fact is, it would have cost far more to replace his quality. It why I supported the contract then and still do now. What has happened at the club since has been the fault of those who wanted Wenger out and the disastrous path the Owner put the club and rubbish people he employed. In the final analysis, it has cost him £20m in one transfer deal and hundreds of millions in lost revenue to the club for him to revert to the structure Wenger preferred for the club.
We are finally on a good path again, and Ozil is still at the club. If we want top 4, Ozil will have to play despite Partey's signing. Unless, Smith Rowe or someone delivers in that central creative role, we still need Ozil and Arteta knows it. Besides, he can leave out players in the squad to accommodate for Ozil in a way that will not affect us financially. A quick financial analysis shows Arsenal seems to be preparing for this option.
Let me warn you, there is still a possibility that Ozil can play. So stop hating and start supporting your team.

Waffi, great analysis and tallies with all the research in have been doing.
Arsenal fanbase can be unreasonable sometimes but the worst of them now believe that things are sour and that his being frozen out has nothing to do with football and that an amicable parting of ways is best for both sides.
I seriously dislike stingy stupid Stan and support Ozil to the end.
I wish we can be rid of Stan. Not Ozil.

Arteta has done what every smart Coach/Manager does, he has made the most of the resources at his disposal. After lockdown, Ozil issues meant he had to change the system. In effect, his 3-4-3 sacrifices offence for defensive solidity. But your players have to buy into your ideas. What is clear is, the players work off the ball has improved immensely.

You know what, it is a very interesting 3-4-3 because of Luiz role. Luiz is effectively the one who steps into midfield making it a 4-3-3, when Xhaka and Ceballos are getting very close marking. The tweaks make the 3-4-3 a bit more offensive, buy it is essentially a defensive system, designed to stop us conceding as its main priority.benteke wrote:Waffiman wrote:Emery did not start build up play from the back at Arsenal.benteke wrote:Can any of you explain to me Arteta tactics.

Football changes like the wind. I don't listen to what is reported. I look at reality of a long brutal season the EPL. A season where we have a chance with all our best players playing a part.Sleaky72 wrote:Chief so, is as reported, that Ozil was not registeredWe are finally on a good path again, and Ozil is still at the club.

Like I said, unless a player steps up and makes Ozil redundant, he will play sometime this season.
The footballers themselves will force it if needed.

Cheers for you time explaining.Waffiman wrote:You know what, it is a very interesting 3-4-3 because of Luiz role. Some say he is a counter attack guy who has drilled his team on how to improve build up from the back that Emery started.
A different style of parking a bus?....
How long are we going to rebrand the ad hoc Diego Simeone/Mourinho tactics, albeit with the formation tweak here and there
Anyway if its bringing glory it's fine, about time those tactics got some respect from the attacking football snobs
The next league game at the Etihad shall make for interesting tactical viewing.
Klopp did say some nice things about Arteta and his tactics after the league game. He is a fan

Yep. For me the City game is important but not a changer or breaker of anything about the season.benteke wrote:Cheers for you time explaining.Waffiman wrote:You know what, it is a very interesting 3-4-3 because of Luiz role. That penny pinching wage structure comes back to bite you in the behind when it comes to signing big name players who then go on to win you things.
It's an absolute disgrace to have an Arsenal first teamer and one of your best on £10k a week.
This club can't be run well.
Starters like Aubameyang should be on high wages. Players like Holding, Niles should be on 40K. Kolasinac should be on 50K not 110K.![]()
100K is still too high for him. That is too much. Players like Aubameyang, Partey should be on high wages, no problem with that. But backups like Kolasinac should not earn more than 50K. It will make it easier to move them. 8 months and 2 weeks left. Arsenal can finally dump Mustaffi, Luiz, Sokratis, and Ozil salary. That is about 33 MP in yearly wages. We can also dump another 5.2 MP if we can move Kolasinac.
Winners do it the right way.
