I presume mate knows his countrymen better but I agree with you. Perisic is a tidily efficient player who plays within himself. Solid and reliable. That’s why coaches like him.

Calm down my brother. Your boys are doing fine. Japan is always underrated but are a difficult team to eliminate. This was never going to be easy.

Japan keep playing their touches blind, both their midfield, defensive, and offensive passes! Very bad habit.

Modric is also playing poorly. Not his A game for sure.
The only standout for us so far is Gvardiol.

You see that seemingly a-hole move that Perisic pulled a minute ago blocking Japan from a quick freekick. That is what experience brings to the field. The crowd booed but he knew the importance of that.

This game is headed to extra time and possibly pks.

I never thought I'd see the day where I would think that 4 minutes of additional time was little.

The Croatians may just nick this by experience. The Japanese are tired and losing in the physical aspect now.

Man, this is disappointing. In 2018 we played well in EVERY game. Dynamic and attacking.
This is downright bad. At least attack and give a good showing.
Again, we have ZERO attackers of ability. But why not go with Orsic who at least is fast if average in scoring instincts?
We've opted for dinosaur football, hoofing to Petkovic or his replacement Budimir. Both low IQ low skill clowns who are just big.
It doesn't help that the midfield of Kovacic-Brozovic-Modric haven't controlled things. It's telling that Japan is getting more possession than against Germany and Spain.

Wow, could be the last time we see Luka, the croatian Paul Scholes.

I never quite understand teams playing for penalties. It is pretty much a lottery unless you really believe in yourself to score 99% of your penalty kicks.

Re: [WC 2022 R16] JAPAN (1) Vs CROATIA (1)
It's not so simple. In this case, I think both want a win and avoid penalty kicks, but they are equally matched and after almost 120 minutes, they are tired physically and mentally.SylverEagles wrote: ↑Mon Dec 05, 2022 6:33 pm I never quite understand teams playing for penalties. Ends in a draw, now the tie breaker. Two good teams that deserve to stay in this competition. Extra time wasn't fun to watch.

Pks coming up. Good luck mate.
Re: [WC 2022 R16] JAPAN (1) Vs CROATIA (1)
Dalic screwed us. See how different we played with more youth?
Japan played it right: 50:50 on penalties.
They're cold and calculating.
Lovren will take a penalty? LOL.
