Rip

Sol Bamba was a well-known professional footballer, celebrated for his leadership and defensive skills. Born on January 13, 1985, in Ivry-sur-Seine, France, Bamba represented several clubs during his career, most notably Cardiff City, where he became a fan favorite. He was also a significant figure in international football, representing the Ivory Coast national team.

Bamba's career spanned various countries and leagues, including stints in Scotland with Dunfermline Athletic and Hibernian, in England with Leicester City and Cardiff City, and in Turkey with Trabzonspor, among others. His robust defending, leadership qualities, and ability to read the game made him a respected figure on the pitch.

In January 2021, Sol Bamba publicly revealed that he had been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of cancer affecting the lymphatic system. Despite this, he continued to inspire fans and fellow players with his courage and determination. After undergoing successful treatment, he announced he was cancer-free later that year.

Bamba's death at the age of 39 is a shock to the football community and beyond. His passing marks the loss of a beloved figure, both for his contributions to football and his inspiring battle against illness. Tributes are pouring in from across the football world, honoring his memory and offering condolences to his family during this difficult time. His legacy will be remembered by many for years to come.

Only 39 years old. Really saddening news.

Damn RIP.
We have been brainwashed by the Premier League that it's the best in the world. Nonsense. It's the best brand
Roy Keane: ITV 02/25/14

He says that we are currently "brainwashed" into believing that the Premier League is the best competition in the world, and that we are now a long way off dominating the Champions League again.
Gary Neville: Mirror: 12/23/14

I think Spain’s by far the best league.
